  1. I quite like what I'm hearing from the clip from the one Desplat track featured in the "soundtrack" album to New Moon.

    Thanks for the link Alan!
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Yup, thanks! That's a nice piano melody. IMO this one should be much better than the previous score.
  2. I didn't think much of what I heard of Burwell's score. But I do like some of the tracks in the BSX Records' download-only "reinterpretation" for piano and violin of some of Burwell's music.

I saw that. A marketing trick. As for Burwell's score, i wasn't fond of it either.

    What do you mean?

I suppose it could be seen as just another way to make money. But, for me, it seems that this "bare" arrangement of what is essentially the same music makes it actually listenable!!

Well, it's not exactly the greatest of music to sit down, re-arrange and re-record for a new release, right? But it'll sell 'cause teens are wetting their pants over for the Vampire porn thingy.

    True.

I just want it made clear that I haven't been wetting my pants listening to this.

  5. This clip - which I assume is the same one as above - is gorgeous.

Reminds me a bit of Philip Glass's piano music at first (see TRUMAN SHOW in particular), but becomes more rhapsodic...

Quite nice, but nothing that makes me wet my pants. (Though I imagine many a teenager will when they hear this in the film.)

Nothing groundbreaking indeed, but it sounds much better than Bella's Lullaby from the previous score. I'm eager to hear what the action music will be like.

They´ll wet their pants; not due to the music though.

The front cover of the score album is up on Amazon. Looks pretty bad to me, but hopefully we should get the tracklisting soon at this rate.

Lovely, lovely clip from New Moon. Shades of Philip Glass indeed. I want Desplat to do all the rotten movies henceforth. He'll lend them so much class.
Horrendous cd cover. Get Luis Rojas or someone else to blur out those people below.

Luis Rojas should be the THING in this business smile wink The cover is horrible but it's clearly not aimed at you and me...they're hoping to make an extra dollar or two with the accidental purchase of the score CD by teens who'll think of fruit-flavored colorful condoms when they see it on the cd-store shelves.

You can now listen to Desplat's tracks from Fantastic Mr. Fox streaming at the film's official site.

Samples of the soundtrack are also available for listening at Amazon UK.

This cover randomly popped up in my mind yesterday, and after I stopped screaming, I realized that it may very likely be the absolute worst cover of the entire year...

Luis?? Help!?! There is a lot of pretty decent artwork in this film's ad campaign....
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

the soundtrack cover looks much better than the score cover. the cover quality doesn't fit to the score quality.

I can't work out whether it's deliberately made to look rubbish, or if it's just rubbish. I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing when I watched the trailer.

The puppetry is very similar to Norwegian puppeteer legend Ivo Caprino and his adaptation of Norwegian folklore. Check out these examples:

I have an interview with Desplat tomorrow. Very short, only 10 minutes, since he's very busy. I still have to come up with questions, so anyone who's willing, shoot!
