It's from about five years ago I think. They even released a "More music from Musashi" album (though I don't have that). It was a Japanese tv series I believe.

    Casino Royale - Arnold

While this is almost a fresh start for the Bond scores, I think Arnold's Bond sound is going to start getting rather repetitive. Bring in a fresh composer *cough* Giacchino *cough*.

*If I ever start sounding like a Giacchino fanboy, please shoot me. biggrin

    Not Powell?

I think Arnold's Bond sound is getting old fast. Powell would be a great choice for Bond.

If he doesn't produce another Jumper, then yeah great. Personally I still want Arnold to score the Bond films for now, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a Powell-Bond score!

Hey, I *like* Arnold soing his Bond thang.
Giacchino has had his Barry shot with The Incredibles, and Powell is just too good with the off-beat sound to be employed in any Bond thing (although a Bond theme with kazoos would be worth the price of admission alone).

    I say stick with Arnold.

I haven't got a problem with Arnold scoring the next film but I just feel something fresh and newer is needed.

    That's not it Martijn.

The later series had a new theme. I'll see if I can find it unless you beat me to it. wink

It comes in at about the 2 minutes 10 mark.

    cool

Also noticed that the director of this episode is Peter Yates. ( 5 degrees of Kevin Bacon or whatever it's called? Yates was the director of Bullit )

Just in case you missed it Martijn, here's where you can find the "real" Danger Man theme.

<ignoring Steven until he has something of even remote value to say>

Sorry, Tim, I did check your link and find the theme, and I didn't come back to confirm shame .
The silly thing is as well: I have that theme! It's on one of my TV series themes compilations... I had just forgotten.

Yeah, it IS a wicked theme, but it's the harpsichord (man, I LOVE harpsichords!) that really makes it. The melody and arrangement are fun, but not fantastic. It would probably have helped a lot, had I seen some episodes when I was younger. smile
So I still wouldn't swap any of my ten Coolest for it.

    NP:The last Horner Score...

The title? Does it matter? "life before her eyes".

It's the same orchestrations than in the last 11 years.

This kind of Synth, the piano and the vocals. The same thing from Titanic to The new world.

Anyway, The atmospheric sound is better and probably more interesting than "House of Sand and fog" for example.

I hope some thematic copy and paste, at least I want Laugh...

Nelson Riddle did the theme to Route 66 another great one that could be included in the list. His sound in my mind is always related to a part he wrote for the bass trombone (George Roberts got the gig almost all the time). I find it so interesting how things can go full circle! I just finished a review of Daktari http://www.goldenscores.com/?a=reviews&id=89 and the pianist living locally now gave me a few minutes of his time to help me. His wife, Holly Hofmann, a flutist, made her debut in the late 70's with guess who and guess who was there. Nelson Riddle himself at the SD Zoo concert series. As you can guess by now I have at least a dozen albums plus CD's of the man.
    listen to more classical music!

I know nothing about this film wrong generation for me. However, it is three movements performed with the London Symphony and on the whole it is pretty good.

Route 66 would assuredly be a contender, but I am loathe to drop any of my list. They're all just so good!

Great review for the Daktari CD, Tom.
Definitely peaked my interest. I'm gonna see if I can pick this one up (even though I already have Manne's Gunn tracks).

Zuba-dig-huh? Ya, maybe back in 1995 when it was called Casper. tongue

    2008 Scores better than Spiderwick...

Asterix Aux Jeux Olympiques - Frederic Tolgarn
Horton Hears A Who! - John Powell
    Nim's Island - Partick Doyle
    Speed Racer - Michael Giacchino
The Other Boleyn Girl - Paul Cantelon

But, again, this year as started off REALLY slow, just like the past two years. But even with that said, Spiderwick was a missed opportunity for Horner. What an underwhelming yawner!
