  1. Wow, Demetris, it´s really impressing how you´re able to put to words what I can only think.

    Thanks for that.
  2. Yes, we tend to forget that MV/RC is now the only really MELODIC action music written today.

    God, I hope not.

Transformers is easily one of the most overrated MV scores I've heard, period.

Overrated, underrated, doesn't bother me either way. All I know is I enjoy it immensely each time I listen to it, great to cycle to. (Listening to music while cycling is no place for film score elitism or snobbery. It's a case of whatever-does-the-job, and MV scores are perfect to cycle to!)

    uuuhhh right?!?

Personally I wouldn't cycle with anything stuck in my ears because I like to be aware of everything around me.

I don't think anyone here overrated this score. It is what it is, a fun score that has tons of blatant rips of all the previous (MV/RC) blockbuster score. I'm very surprised that Michael Bay even allowed so much themes and melody into the score, given his track records as a producer.

Considering I don't use sound to navigate my way throughout the world, sight does me just fine. wink Also I don't wear a helmet... and I cycle no handed... on the road... while standing up... I've had many a crash, and even sitting here with my fractured rib, safety is not my biggest concern when I ride; speed is. biggrin

I love Transforrmes. So shamelessly big, melodic and fun! For more detailed reasons, see the previous page.

THE ISLAND, D-WARS, TRANSFORMERS, the definition of mindless HUGE amounts of fun, to me.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

This is either very good for the game, or very bad for him. biggrin

Edit: The main theme is available here. Not too bad, but it remains the Sims...

I don't think so. There are few here singing its praises but it's, IMHO, rather ordinary and average Arnold material.

I don't understand how it is ordinary and average Arnold material, when some of the materials in this score has never been done before by Arnold. Heck, even the action material has a much more matured sound with less "Dodd-isms", unlike previous Arnold stuff.

I agree. There rarely is a case of 30-minute long but praised droning underscore, on any score.

I don't agree. I think it's rather stale. It mostly standard Arnold fare. Solace could be from any film. It definitely doesn't reach the highest or brilliance of Casino Royale.

Composer Steve Jablonsky recently recorded his score to the newest installation in the popular game series, The Sims 3, at the Newman Scoring Stage at 20th Century Fox. ScoringSessions.com is proud to bring you exclusive photos from the orchestral sessions to the score!

    Enjoy!

GEARS OF WAR 2, the long-awaited upcoming tactical thid-person shooter video game by EPIC GAMES and MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS, carries a similarly expected original score by the composer of Transformers, The Island, D-Wars, Steve Jablonsky.

Music4Games.net now features a very interesting new interview with Steve Jablonsky himself and Epic Games audio director, Mike Larson.

Anyone heard the score? It's much more interesting than the first score and filled with, like, mini highlights of the best parts of Steve's previous work.
