Did you know that actor Kirk Douglas almost did a George C Scott at the Oscars and was going to refuse going up on stage to collect his one and only Oscar for SPARTACUS? He was talked into going on stage and receiving his statue by close friend Marlon Brando who suggested that any political stand at that point in his career could have been disasterous.

After being handed the statue by announcer David Niven, Douglas gave one of the shortest speeches in Oscar history and just said "thank you".

Sorry Bregt, Bregje & Thor but this was 100% rubbish, I made the whole story up. And just for the record, unbelievably KIRK DOUGLAS has never won an Oscar.

I'll take it as a great compliment that I made this story convincing enough for you all to say True. cool wink

Ouch. sad Well, break a le...erm... I mean good luck with that! sad

To tide you over, a quick challenge, piggybacking on your own:

It wasn't Kirk Douglas who gave the shortest Oscar acceptance speech.
In fact it was Sir John Mills, for his role in Ryan's Daughter.
Playing a mute in the film, he just accepted the oscar, smiled, gave a small bow and walked off.

Trick question! Obviously they're ALL real!

    Doyuthinkesaurus
    Extremely adept at hide-and-seek.
In fact, there may still be some alive today, but we simply can't find them!

    Giganotosaurus
A.k.a. Extremely Not A Saurus, which means it's everything but a dinsoaur, i.e. all of entropy without the dinosaur (ALL -/- "dinosaur"). You, me, the ship, the rock....

    Quadrupleceratops
Always traveled in packs of four to be able to play Bridge at a moment's notice.

    Thorhagasaurus
Very wary of experiencing time in the proper order, hence refused to die out, insisting it is still in the process of being born after having fallen in love, claiming that that makes for a better experience.

    Tripodosaurus
    Specific species indigenous to Mars.
