    But Im worried because It's too long since my last Powell Mood. (Happy feet Aside).


    The main theme didn't impress me in Ubeda.But It's as usual a nice and powellish tune.

    I don't think that was a main theme (it's a rom-com so it might not even have one). I thought that was the best performance in Ubeda (probably because everything else felt half-arsed, and it was the only original thing). I still wouldn't mind hearing the score in full though.

    Happy Feet article? All I've ever had up was the review, and that was on the old site. I decided against reviews over a more informative site, rather than one which seemed more of my-personal-opinion-on-everything. Plus when a new score comes out I don't have to worry about giving it a rating. I prefer being just a fan! spin

    Most of the facts I had in the introduction I moved over to the FAQ, so go there if they're what you seek! wink

    I would argue that is UNITED 93. Like i have in the past. But Happy Feet is pure genius as well, i'd place it in the 2nd place.

    I'd say United 93 is a close tie with his Bourne-scores, especially Supremacy.

    I'd say SUPREMACY is easily the best of the 3 Bourne scores and easily number 3 in my John Powell lists.

    Yup, as BobdH said, United 93 sounds like a Bourne score without the action! wink

    As for Nautilus' question....no, I don't. smile In terms of scope of the whole project (including all the songs etc.) then yes, but as for best scores I'd have to agree with Demetris, with Supremacy being one of the top ones. That score grows on you immensly the more you listen to it, and even then it's great on a first listen. Aside from my regular favourites of Cody Banks, Evolution, Paycheck and Chicken Run, Supremacy ranks up there at the top.

    I can never really put everything in rank order, but I like to categorise scores into how often I listen to them. So, lets see:

    Chicken Run
    Paycheck
    Bourne Supremacy
    Mr. & Mrs. Smith
    Ice Age The Meltdown
    The Italian Job

    Scores I listen to occasionally:

    Drumline
    Endurance
    Happy Feet
    Shrek
    Two Weeks Notice
    Antz
    The Bourne Identity
    Pluto Nash
    Robots
    The Bourne Ultimatum

    Scores I hardly listen to:

    Face/Off
    Rat Race
    Chill Factor
    Eldorado
    Endurance
    Just Visiting
    I Am Sam
    United 93

    Not to say any of those I hardly listen to are bad, I just favour the other ones. What I remember when first listening to Happy Feet was that I was really impressed and I gave it a **** 1/2 rating. Then I thought to myself what would I think of it if I wasn't a Powell fan, and to be honest, the only answer I could come up with was completly disjointed. It's got pleanty of nice set pieces, but there's nothing too big to grapple on to. So if I had to reccomend 3 scores for a casual listener, I'd probably say Chicken Run, Supremacy and X-Men.

    Agree what you said, And one of the main problems with happy feet is the descriptivve and the short tracks. Wich are a lot. It makes a disjointed listening. But Happy feet tells so well the story of this little penguin, that is probably one of the msot mature scores I ever heard in a long time. Besides it has all the elements from Powell.

    Anyway, I agree there are a lot of better listening experiences.

    Agent Cody Banks
    Xmen 3 (Score that Is not so good like I thought in the beggining. The Non-Action stuff don't really works, and the action stuff is too over the top).
    Italian Job
    Evolution

    I am sam and United 93 are his best dramatic scores. but I rareally listen them.

    I don't use to listen Endurance or Face off or Just Visiting.

    I think the problem with the score to Happy Feet was the same as the problem with the film - it was MEANT to be about dancing penguins, but for some reason Miller deceided to go "nah, lets end that about half way through and go all serious!"

    ....

    I rest my case.

    It seems the kinda lovely - peaceful - melodyc score that Powell does so well, with guitar, light percussion and a string ensemble basically. Tracks 2 and 3 are the perfect example of "this" Powell.
