    I hate when they do that, I always like / want to know who performed the music. Is it that difficult to type "music performed by..."? Or there are major reasons not to do it?
    Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you

    Most of the time they do (it always says "Hollywood Studio Symphony", "The Sydney Symphony" etc.)

    The only reason no "orchestra" is credited when they record at Abbey Road is because there isn't a specific orchestra that works there. It's more like a collection of people who play instruments. tongue That's a really bad way of explaining it, but I can't think of a better one. If someone else can then please go for it!

    I've heard some of the shorter cues from Stop Loss. They're not particularly interesting. Electronics, guitars and drums. Hopefully that finale cue will own though. lick

    Also, I've heard a bit of Horton Hears A Who! (I'll try and post up some clips tonight). I think the best way to describe it is a more stylish version of Rat Race (there's lots of little brass bits that kind of remind me of a Bond score)! There's also some more samba-style cues (similar to Adelie Land). punk

    Come to think of it, if anyone's played ''The Movies'' or ''Evil Genius'' it's similar to the style of music in those games. wink

    Plus, new Horton banners on my site! biggrin

    If there are also some more tender parts ala Ice Age 2, then Horton should be turn out to be my favorite Powell score since X3.

    Mine too, only it'll hopefully be my favourite since Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Ice Age has some great bits but some rather crappy bits towards the end. I really didn't enjoy the action scoring...

    I love all of his music for animated films. That's why I can safely believe you when you say Horton is good.

    Does anybody know if it is likely Powell will compose the music for Ice Age 3?

    I rather liked Ice Age 2 and liked a lot his score for Robots but i think he should go away from animated movies.

    Man, I LOVED his score to Robots!
    Way better than Ice Age 2 (which gets very little play indeed from me).
    I'll be ecstatic for him to do Robots 2 (even though I can't see how this would be a good movie...the first one was mostly inoffensive, but -aside from the lovely Goldberg contraptions strewn liberally around the film- rather hum-drum and hardly original. It's really not a film begging for a sequel. slant )

    I'll buy the score sight unseen...er... hearing unheard, though!
