It appears he has written an Assassin's Creed score. They're certainly rifling through all sorts of composers for this franchise (which is probably a wise decision given how same-y the actual games are). -

If anything, I might argue that it’s lacking a little bit of personality. It’s a bit like a John Debney score: incredibly well done, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by whom.
Really? I think McCreary has a very readily identifiable style (far moreso than Debney), and it's all over 10 Cloverfield Lane! -

I think his style is everywhere except for 10 cloverfield lane
i was revisiting the whole Bear catalogue the other day. It's so neutral and at parts, dull.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Listen to the last track again. The percussion and brass is pure Bear. So is the theme (especially on that scratchy, slightly oriental-sounding ethnic instrument...Bear really seems to favor those). I fail to see how anyone who's even slightly familiar with his career would say he can't be heard in 10 Cloverfield Lane. -

I wasn't mad about 10 Cloverfield Lane either.
I know I sound like broken record, but I cannot understand why we're not getting a release for the music from Black Sails season 2 and 3? There's SUCH fine material in there: exciting, moving suspenseful... Not sure what the delay is all about. That Scottish series thingy he does seems to get all the love and priority.

The score to 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE didn't do much for me either, but the film is actually quite good (despite a few warts here and there).
OUTLANDER deserves all the credit it's getting, but BLACK SAILS is pretty damn good too (and it's a far better show, of course).I am extremely serious. -

You mean CLOVERFIELD?
Well, the first film was certainly more original (although the constant hand-held on a big cinema screen made me extremely nauseous -- especially since I was hung over). The second is a more typical 80s genre pastiche à la Abrams' SUPER 8. But I like it. I also enjoy "isolation dramas" in general.I am extremely serious. -

Most people identify a McCreary score by his use of percussion. For me, it's his string writing. It's completely unmistakable as being from any other composer (10 Cloverfield Lane included). -

probably my favorite score of 2016. how can't you love the horror-infused dreamscape of mcreary's metallic modern phantasmagoria???!?!?!Bach's music is heartless and robotic. -

I'm not a fan, either. "Horror-infused" will never describe something I love. Metal chairs scraping along the ground is very creative, and I appreciate what McCreary did intellectually, but I didn't enjoy listening to it. -
