In the present, I will be leaving for work (Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa) in about a half hour. I will be eating lunch at the employee dining room. They will be serving some unidentifable morsels or a cheese burger w/ fries. I guess I'll go with the burger and fries.

    * Rice for desserts, tastes sweeter and is stickier than normal rice. Did some looking around and it think it's called Glutinous rice in English. About a cup of it should be enough; 125 grams I think.
    * Cook it in water.
    * Take 750ml of milk, add some sugar (5-6-7 cubes as you please), add 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
    * When the milk is getting warm, add the cooked rice
    * Fill a cup with (cold) milk, add pudding powder and stir
    * When the milk (+rice) starts cooking, add the milk+pudding powder and keep stirring
    * Add some egg white foam as well if you want to make it less 'heavy'
    * Pour into a baking shape that's greased with butter and place it in the oven for 25-30 minutes on 180°C

Now, you could also try to make some water dough to make the bottom of the pie more firm, but I haven't tried that myself.

This sounds more like what we in Britain would call Rice PUDDING.

I had horrific visions of rice wrapped in puff / shortcrust pastry! vomit

Myea, but you don't put pudding in the oven, I think? Anyhow, the shortcrust pastry as you call it is just for the bottom few millimetres + sides to make the whole thing more firm. You don't wrap it in it.

Okay! Still doesn't sound nice though I'd be willing to give it the benefit of the doubt if someone served it up for me.

On September 1, I started my two-month diet. This means cutting alcohol with 90% (leaving a meager 10% if there's a BIG party I MUST attend in this time period), trying to exercise 3 times a week, eating "normal" food (which means cutting out all the snacks and chocolate etc.), cutting down on bread. Nothing really extreme.

But yesterday, I initiated this diet with another diet, a one-week "clear your body of toxins" diet. This is a hospital diet that is given to heart patients one week before surgery in order to lose weight. Yeah, I know it sounds extreme, and I don't really want to lose any weight, but it CLEANS your body, and I really need that.

This hospital diet is centered very much around a certain vegetable soup that actually tastes good (I would love to give you the recipe, but I don't know the English names of all the vegetables)! I have to eat this for breakfast, lunch, even dinner. On day 5 and 6, I'm allowed to eat a steak or roasted chicken.

But that's just for a week. After that, I go back to normal - lots of pasta and protein shakes to build up muscles.

Just an experiment I'm trying now that I passed 30 to see if things can be reversed if I want to! smile
    I am extremely serious.

I read a few articles on detoxing recently. There are different ways to do it, light food or only fruit and vegetable juices, for 3 days or 7 days, whatever you want to achieve. There are organisations who take care of the whole retreat including yoga, walks outside, massages and everything. Of course you can also fast at home.

I just don't know how healthy it exactly is. People who had the experience say they came back full of energy, feeling completely reborn and clean and recharged. Some of them also lost some weight but that was never the goal. Feeling what the cleaning did they now eat with much more awareness. Knowing what stuff you put inside your body.

I always prefer normal healthy food. Most of the time a diet means less of something and I wonder if that's any good. But I'm also curious what a diet can do and I like the idea of taking only clean and pure food and making a fresh start with both body and mind.

Let us know how you're doing Thor! I heard headaches can be a side effect of detoxing. Do you have headaches? And do you feel hungry or not at all? Good luck.

    I had Moe's last night.
It is one of those places when all the employees scream "Welcome to MOE's!" when you walk in.
They have things on the menu such as ugly naked guy, sherman klump (from murphy's the nutty professor), joey bag of donuts, and many other strange titles.

I always get the joey bag of donuts. It is a burrito as thick at ones arm. It is awesome!
It's one of those meals where you walk away feeling more like a man. Argh!!!!!! smile

It is the my favorite Mexican chain restaurant.

I've done this before and had some of the best steaks I've ever eaten at ludicrously expensive restaurants. But I'm also a sucker for a perfectly done Pime Rib. Mmmm..... DEAD COW!!!

Oh... then you are going to love this, Timmer.

Here are two shots of my birthday meal that I made last weekend.

    STEAKS AND STUFFED POTATOES

    MY PLATE OF FOOD

I call that a heart attack on a plate!

My wife thinks I'm the only one that takes pictures of a plate of food. Am I really the only one?

The steaks were inch thick Top Sirloins. They were marinated in Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager, Diane Sauce, Garlic, Minced Onions, and Montreal Steak spice. They marinated for about 8 hours.

The stuffed potatoes were made with crab, basil, corn kernels, butter, goats cheese, parmesan cheese, and cheddar cheese.

And the salad is my wife's caramelized almonds, cranberry, feta and greens salad. BEST BIRTHDAY DINNER EVER!!!
