If you went to a really expensive restaurant right now ( all paid for by somebody else of course wink ) what kind of restaurant and food would you want?

Filet Mignon cooked Medium Rare with a piece of bacon wrapped around it
    Cesar Salad
    Spicy Bowl of Gumbo
    Loaded Baked Potato
    And a Dozen Raw Oysters

    Now I'm really hungry

I've done this before and had some of the best steaks I've ever eaten at ludicrously expensive restaurants. But I'm also a sucker for a perfectly done Pime Rib. Mmmm..... DEAD COW!!!

    -Erik-

I think you are a man after my own heart Erik, not much beats a bloody slice of dead cow on a plate biggrin beer

Medium rare but on occassion I just ask the chef to "show it the pan" wink lick

    Couldn't agree more.

Oh... then you are going to love this, Timmer.

Here are two shots of my birthday meal that I made last weekend.

    STEAKS AND STUFFED POTATOES

    MY PLATE OF FOOD

I call that a heart attack on a plate!

My wife thinks I'm the only one that takes pictures of a plate of food. Am I really the only one?

The steaks were inch thick Top Sirloins. They were marinated in Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager, Diane Sauce, Garlic, Minced Onions, and Montreal Steak spice. They marinated for about 8 hours.

The stuffed potatoes were made with crab, basil, corn kernels, butter, goats cheese, parmesan cheese, and cheddar cheese.

And the salad is my wife's caramelized almonds, cranberry, feta and greens salad. BEST BIRTHDAY DINNER EVER!!!

    -Erik-

    lick lick lick lick lick

It really doesn't help that I'm hungry right now with a choice of only bread, cheese or cereal.

I never heard of it until an Australian student was raving about it. Am I missing a food delicacy? What about you?

Because I'd decided to watch Wanted, Lost and Bond movies rather than cook anything. Now my stomach is hurting though so it's time to pull out a microwave meal. tongue

Ahh, those halcyon days of staggering out a night club in the wee small hours and eating a lump of grisle and plastic cheese-like substance between two soggy slices of bread bun... and not even noticing how crap it tastes because you're drunk and hungry!

Yeap! Have done it numerous times but our own cypriot sandwiches contain much more crap than this...and are escorted by even more! And the hours are usually 4-5 a.m shame

Those were the days indeed.... hang on, they still are the days! WOO!! Unhealthy food and later-in-life heart problems here I come!
  6. The only late-night snack food I truly miss from England are *proper* kebabs. There was a place in Sheffield which was only open from 9pm to 4am, which sold the most amazing kebabs. Piles and piles of juicy lamb doner meat... huge, light, fluffy flatbread... tomatoes and onions... white, creamy mint sauce, and hot red chili sauce on top.... truly heaven's food.

Oh, and good Indian food biggrin
