I've not used Wordpress for a few months.
To be honest, I am struggling to understand what your problem is. It sounds as though you are having an issue with spell checking in your browser(s)?
And I assume that you are not seeing what I can see whilst writing this post: I have red underlines in this text box showing me "sdtom" and "wordpress" as needing checking.
I think that I have helped you as much as I can on this. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Tom, it's hard to be sure from what you write, but it looks as if the issue may be that the Windows 10 integrated spellchecker is switched off.
Maybe try the steps in this page to switch it back on:

Here is a tutorial video:

If that's not it, I'm not sure what it can be. Probably best to have someone look at it 'live' than anyone here online trying to troubleshoot it from a great distance with not all information readily available.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Tom, can you find anything that shows "PC Settings"? Maybe if you type this into the search box for searching programs and files (clicking on the Windows icon in the bottom left of the task bar.
From the options, select "PC and devices." Then click on "Typing." If you have got this far then you should see two on/off options for "autocorrect misspelled words" and "highlight misspelled words." Make sure one or both are "on."
Does this help if Martijn's more thorough help doesn't...help?The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I am using Windows 7 for a reason. My current programs work well with it. As an example I was told that I would have to upgrade my Windows Office program from the 2007 that I now have to 2016 to be compatible with Windows 10?listen to more classical music! -

Upgrading from 7 to 8 is madness! Skip straight to 10, if at all. -

Never needed to upgrade from 7 to 8. My Windows 7 pc broke and had to buy a Windows 8 pc. Still use Windows 8 and it's fine. Also, I thought that you couldn't upgrade directly from 7 to 10?The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Three month ago I made a clean install of Windows 10 on a laptop that originally ran Win7. I had no problem at all. Microsoft didn't charge me and not even asked for the Win7 key.

Isn't a 'clean install' completely over-writing a computer with a new operating system rather than upgrading? If it is then you wouldn't need any key from a previous vwrsion. And, yes Windows 10 was given away for a time but even now - when they have started to charge - there are legitimate ways still of getting Windows 10 from Microsoft for free. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

That's right. I just expected that I would have to legitimize Win 10 with the Win 7 key, which I didn't.Bach's music is vibrant and inspired. -

Doesn't have to be a certain size and in the right image format? JPEG is the one I usually use."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G.
