Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place, but is there any way to change the visual appearance of the forum? ... i.e. font, text color, background color, etc. I seem to be having a hard time reading the discussions because the post color is not really set apart much from the background and my eyes aren't sure where to go.

(not to criticize the overall layout of the site which looks amazing!!!)

Made it darker. Is it better now?

its fine for me. Took a couple of minutes adjusting (when you've been used to score-reviews for 5 years, your eyes have a film music forum preset which takes a while to change smile)

It's a little better. I think it might help if the borders around the posts were darker or thicker.

Personally I think the yellow flashing is really awful and unfunctional. That's the only thing I'd like to see changed.

And look away each time I press add your comment slant

I think it would already make a huge different if it wouldn't be yellow, but matching the gray and white colors.

In my opinion we should have more flashing bits, makes it feel futuristic somehow (i'm so simple smile)

    Couldn't agree more.

As for the appearance, it's been a very and i mean VERY hard couple of months or so for Bregt and a very intense week for him and us beta testers so i'd suggest give some credit but also give yourselves time to adjust and get used to everything in here, a gorgeous forum and website, imo. It's good to have suggestions flowing in for sure but please keep it logical and moderate people smile

Then it wouldn't be what it is would it? Flashy and attention-catching, it wouldn't discriminate itself from the rest of the forum's layout.

The result is absolutely great and I know all about the immense amount of time it and effort it cost. Changes to a website can take sometime to adjust to, yes. This is something not from that category. The only thing for me is to, with pain in my heart, try and start accepting that it won't go away. I'm already lucky that I can turn of avatars, because those are also terrible things.

Yeah, i'd agree with Alan here; if possible, in the near future.

I think a darker blue for active threads would be nicer? Sometimes I find myself looking twice just to see if the threads are active on inactive! (Partly due to my not-too-great distinction of colours... but still.)

But I DO like that feature.

I'm personally not too fond of the white background. I think scorereviews (may it rest in piece) was nice and soothing with all that brown & beige. White just seems too..... hmm, what's the word... busy. It's too straining on the eyes and mind I think.

Or perhaps it's simply something I need to get used to.

I think it's primarily a thing to get used to. I feel a bit the same, but I'm confident I'll adjust. Anyway it's a hell of a lot better than those websites that have a black background with white text! Every time I visit Filmtracks (very rarely now), I feel like my eyes are going to fall out of my skull after a couple of minutes of reading.

Bregt, is it an idea to maybe make a "maintenance" sticky?
Just a list of what you will be / think of changing (comparable to the old "The List" topic in beta)?

Maybe not so much a topic to actually respond to (we could do that in here. In fact, I would make that sticky non-respondable, if you can), but just to see what suggestions that have been done here are actually picked up and which aren't.

Anyway, back to suggestions: I actually agree with Peter (plindboe) on the background colour.
I would have prefered a less "hard" colour (most cyber-ergo-psychologists seem to agree that primary colours aren't most conductve to web site accessibility and readability), but I'm equally confident with Mogens that all it really takes is just a bit of personal getting used to.
So in principle I'm for changing it, but if not I don't mind very much either.

And, based on Bregt's The List topic: just to make sure I explain myself adequately: when I say background, I mean the white forum background.
Not the posts' background, which (in light grey) I think is absolutely fine and really easy to read!

I was wondering.. Is there a way (cookies?) to make the site "remember" the section, you prefer to watch when loading the site. Such as going directly to the "General Discussions"-section instead of having to use the drop-down menu every time? Not that it's a big deal, could just be a neat feature.

How about having a see "ALL MEMBERS" button that would lead to a corresponding list in http://www.maintitles.net/community/ Bregt? I'd be interested in your thoughts on this one, i think it's pretty useful and essential tool in a message board.
