I'm looking for a certain type of score and perhaps some of you can help me.

It has to be a score with (a bit of a ) adventurous side, not to serious, not too playfull, no ethnical stuff, a combination of orchestral with some electronics, not the sort of adventurous score that has that sort of tongue in cheeck or cartoonish character... And something in the vein of Arnold's Casino Royale wink

    Thanks for all the help.

For a specific purpose or just a general itch to listen to a 'not too serious, not too playful, non-ethnic, traditional/electronic' score? ( dizzy )

That's a toughy. I'll have to think about that one.

    xXx 2 by Beltrami
    The Incredibles by Giacchino
    Inspector Gadget by Debney
  1. It´s a real hard one. Adventuring comes naturally with travelling, so I see a lot of stuff ditched because of ethnic influences... maybe you can combine Goldsmith´s The Edge with the parts of Badelt´s Time Machine that match Goldsmith´s thematic approach?

Possibly Transporter 2 by Azaria. Although this does go overboard with the electronics, it's got a lot of Bond/Matrix style brass.

None of these are really what I'm looking for. Casino was an example, but I'm also looking beyond that score. Some of the mentioned titles don't have those very subtle electronics plus orchestra that some cues in Casino have and are too cartoonish or serious.

Purely orchestral scores with everything as described before might also do fine.

One with very limited use of percussion would also be fine.
  2. Maybe something epic from John Barry, then?

    Maybe Twister by Mark Mancina.
    Eight Below by Mark Isham
    Lassie by Basil Poledouris
White Fang 2 by John Debney

I may be way off with these suggestions.

Maybe TREASURED ISLAND (Nicholas Dodd) would be a good fit?
