Guild Wars: Eye of the North is fantastic! His Harry Potter scores are brilliant. I love his epic score for IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. Lots of exciting stuff in those scores.

Yes, his IL-2 score is also worth a listen. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't like Soule's music at all? I tried two scores from him, among them Oblivion, but I turned it off half-way. He didn't impress me at all!
I can't think of an album by him that I liked in its entirety either, but his title theme cues are usually absolutely great. A playlist of such cues from his entire works might give you a completely different image of the man's music than going through each of his albums in full. It sure did for me!

I remember playing the first IL-2 Sturmovik and that had cheesy synthy music, probably why I never bothered to check out Birds of Prey.
Thanks for the heads-up. -

Birds of Prey is wonderful featuring Soule's incredible sample library (one of the very best in the business)
Here is the "IL-2 March."

And here is the epic "Overture" from Guild Wars: Eye of the North!

And my favourite theme from the game - "Tome of Rubicon (Dwarf Theme)"

This one kicks ass, too. "Under The Dark Span (Asura Theme)"

I wasn't familiar with Birds of Prey but after a listen I can say that the march is really great, but that's about all that I find great about it. I think his more action oriented stuff really suffers from the sample libraries at times. It sounds a bit too artificial for lack of a better word. He perfected that approach for Skyrim, but that one is more about the ethereal soundscapes rather than the action music, as awesome as it sounds.
I really like this overture he did for the game Prey. Love the finish of that cue.
