Yeah, Other Guy has done quite a lot, but if he ain't no experience in the filmmusic business, he ain't experienced enough wink Let's hope he brings something fresh to the tabel, and not something like a few songs in between Mansell's work.

Doesn't really matter mate, imo. As long as you have extensive experience from various musical genres, you can always create something quite interesting, if you want wink and got the knowledge to do so wink

Yes, just so long as you have no background in writing dramatic music and have received no musical training, you can jump right to the front of the film-scoring queue. Get away Broughton, push off Shire, a guy who doesn't know what he's doing is coming through because he used to play the guitar for a pop singer.

Don't underestimate the hard work being done in those genres mate. Having worked with artists like that, it's virtually impossible that he has no musical training; and as for the latter, i don't see it being used against specific film music composer who also don't have it wink (*cough* Elfman)

I know, I know. Just frustrating sometimes. Elfman is very much the exception in being a first-rate film composer from that background.

Well, since Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead did an exceptional job on There Will Be Blood, I'm willing to give newcomers a try wink
  2. I reported about "The Meerkats" about two months ago when the score was being recorded/been recorded. Why is it news now? Also, it's being done with Klaus Badelt.

    Oh, and a correction:

I previously listed Eric Bibb for "Gospel Hill"; that was true back in 2004, but the film got pushed back and now IMDB is listing Scott Bomer ("Black Nake Moan" composer) as doing it now.

The Scoreboard lists approximately 500 upcoming film scores and while it's a very comprehensive list, I sometimes realize that an "old" (announced "officially" perhaps over a year ago) title is missing - and then I add it to the list. Just as simple as that.

Just recycle his own Mr. Brooks !

This is the film that has been previously listed as "The Tourist", an assignment that has been on Ramin's list since July last year.

Hey Mikael, are one of the RC guys, possibly Ramin, rescoring "Doubting Thomas"?

Even more surprisingly, he's also listed as the music editor on The Uninvited (formerly A Tale of Two Sisters), while Christopher Young's credit seems to have disappeared. Last I have heard that Young was already working on the film a couple of months ago.
