Sorry for opening a new topic, didn't find any other place to post... I was surfing youtube and found this supposed "Pirates Of Caribbean Theme" music which has the themes with a cool electric guitar - http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=5T93VT5TAkE

I cannot find it on the OSTs. Can anyone tell me if it's one of those remixes, and where can I find it? Thanks!

That's from Zimmer's Drop Zone, 'Too Many Notes-Not Enough Rests'.

And reading those comments is a painful experience.

Edit: lame, you found it. I thought I could be helpful for once.... alas, that day has yet to come.

  3. Sicko, great film, hard to believe it's all based on facts. Once again, Moore delivered the goods.

I would also like to know what the music for that scene is, sounds like a great theme for some kind of adventure film. It totally fit the scene in Sicko though.

  4. Could also be "Ethnic Drone" by Hans Gregson-Allison.

It is! It did precisely zero for me. Just out of interest Ant, what made you want to know more about it?

p.s. At least it does what it says on the label.

Can anyone identify the music playing in this video?

Btw, it's about the haitian earthquake, and contains some tragic photos, so if you don't want to be bummed out, don't click the link.

Rather unoriginal music of course, but I find it extraordinary, catchy and inspiring.

    Yep, it's Tyler's Rambo score.

It seems like a cheap trick to get an emotional response from its audience. The images should speak for themselves, and they don't need some generic piece of melancholic film music to tell us that. (Or indeed a quote from scripture, which I find to be just horribly misplaced and ironic.)

Sure, but it doesn't change reality. Music can have an extremely powerful emotional effect when it accompanies pictures. But I shouldn't have to tell you that, being a film music fan.

The Youtube clip uses the same theme as in "Aftermath", but I don't think it's that track. Think I'll have to get the whole score.

That's my point! It doesn't change reality. It just doesn't need a sappy piece of music... if anything, it takes away the reality of these pictures. Show them without music, and they'll speak for themselves. (Perhaps a low-lying atmospheric track at the very least, but not a fully blown melancholic piece.)

Fair enough. I didn't bother watching it all since I've seen the images.
