Well, I'm not talking about our CROWN princess, but our princess, Märtha Louise. She looks kinda fine too, though. But she's a bit of a nutjob, for sure.

He, he...good one. I've always laughed at those medium guys. Should have shown that video to our own wonky princess, who apparently believes in Angels and Light Beings and whatnot.

Hehe, yes, I remember reading about that. Astrology too, right? Astrology is probably the weirdest belief out there, even weirder than fairies in my opinion.

Sounds a bit like the jazz version on the Terry Trotter album, although this one has perhaps a more "charleston" feel.

Your post is off topic. Notice it says Funny videos.

In any case, I think it's pretty cool for the super rich to go out and say that their taxes are too low. Shows that not everyone just cares about lining their own pockets, but some have their country's best in mind.

In any case, I find it curious how the majority of american republicans have been convinced to vote against their own self interest.

  2. Ah, no -- the video is hilarious. Meaning = on topic.

Buffet's taxes AREN'T LOW -- this is a just a lie. His secretary is paying income tax, which is taxed at a different rate than the the capitol gaines tax rate his pays, which is lower. If he wants to pay more, he can demote himself to an hourly employee and pay regualr income tax. And EVEN THEN, he's STILL paying more. You got to understand that his money was already taxed before hand (before the capitol gaines tax) with a corporate tax rate, much higher (35%) -- meaning essentially he's been taxed higher, and in the end the I.R.S. IS getting more money from him in taxes than his secretary.
And if he feels so bad, after Same Day Delivery of those checks to the I.R.S., he can also raise his secretary's freakin' pay just high enough to not enter the next tax bracket. No one is stopping him.

Buffet isn't thinking about anybody but himself. He owes the I.R.S. in BACK TAXES from back to 2002 to 2009, to the tune of about $1 billion dollars; he's not paid. His tax people are disputing his "fair share". If he thinks the rich should pay their "fair share", then he can start by cutting a fucking check and paying his BACK TAXES. Then, also, as the video shows, you can submit as much as you want to the I.R.S. to help pay the debt down.

The majority of Republicans are informed and spot on. You don't raise taxes to appease the ignorant who don't understand. You don't create laws for the ignorant, either.

Taxing the rich, or as our President puts it, to de-humanize people, "millionaires and billionaires", cannot pay down or pay off the debt. It is litterally impossible -- we've reached that point now. You cannot tax yourself out of debt. There aren't that many "millionaires and billionaires" in the United States, in fact, the number has actually declined, starting under Bush, then dramatically rising under Obama. If you taxed them at 100%, you couldn't pay off the interest on the debt we owe in just ONE YEAR, to say nothing about our total U.S. debt. I could go into more details, but I feel this is enough.

The problem is none of you look into it -- you just take his dumb words at it. Listen, folks, any time any of you think you might got something backwards, feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can do about that. I am more than willing to offer my time and get nothing more in return than to inform you of the truth.

Truth is rarely objectively measured, Justin. Currently the effective tax on the millionaire segment is roughly 32%, which is absolutely laughable by North European standards. E.g. in The Netherlands average effective tax on middle-incomes is 42%! I see no practical issue AT ALL with millionaires and billionaires paying up to 10% more.

Whether or not that will actually solve anything structurally is evry much open to debate, and the move seems more inclined to quell any potential general uprising than anything else.

However at the end of the day I don't think anyone outside of the US is particularly interested in whatever classic weird twists and turns Americans tie themselves to try and avoid paying more taxes. The wild cries of "socialism" whenever someone suggests paying for your infrastructure, or "solidarity" whenever someone suggests working for a living are hollow and meaningless in the light of the truly astounding and honestly unpayable national debt the US has incurred.

For all the fancy posturing, this one truth stands above all these days: right here and now, fairness has NOTHING to do with it.
The shit has hit the fan in a measure and with a speed no one dared have nightmares about.
    But here it is.
All anyone can do is try and get it sorted as best as they can. Good luck to Obama.

In the meantime, we have problems of our own in Europe.

As the narrator says, this was pretty much the death blow to breakdance in Sweden -- what was once edgy was then reduced to silly histrionics set in a folk music setting.
