  1. I know that Grand Theft Auto 3 was, for some time, very popular among my male students, especially among those of Turkish or Russian descent. Now, don't get me wrong here, but there are noticeable differences in the media intake within these groups and the German majority.

I don't know if anybody ever played Grand Theft Auto 3

Nope. Never heard of it. Is that on the NES? I hear that's what the kids want for Christmas this year.

well, it's on the computer as well, and I'm thought on the most important consoles as well (X-box or playstation where I played it on), very popular game indeed. The much anticipated 5th one is gonna come out soon I think. Look up the trailers on youtube

Clearly sarcasm was a bad choice. wink

    Ah, Atari?

I remember a few years later (mid/late 80's), you either had Commodore 64 (which made you cool) or Atari (which made you slightly less cool). smile
    I am extremely serious.
  5. The C64 could not be used as tv console or could it? I remember both Atari and Commodre competed in the fields of consoles and home computers.

I myelf never owned a tv console. Back then I had an Armstrad CPC. Not so cool maybe but still a very good machine.

The C64 used the tv screens as platform, yes, but you obviously couldn't WATCH tv on them, if that is what you meant.

We had an Atari 65 XE for a long while, then it got stolen. When we had our first PC (an AT computer, that meant a 286), our neighbours had an Amiga which was amazing for gaming and we could play some stuff that obviously wasn't written for a PC.

Atari and Commodore computers didn't exactly work as a console, whatever Volker meant. A console is only for gaming (though the most recent generation allows going as far as to even allowing browsing the internet smile

I just checked if "Atari" and "Commodore" still exist in any incarnation. They do. But that has nothing to do with the corporations of yesteryear anymore.

Oh, how I'd love to try that somewhere. It would make a GREAT Halloween custome. Just hide in the bushes and wait for children.

    biggrin

When you've watched it, try to watch it again, but this time mute the video and pause it at 0:00. Then open another tab and play this video, as loudly as possible. As the awesome music is playing, go back to the first tab and press play. Finally these brave knights will have the music they deserve.

Hehe, true. But I think we Europeans would scream just as much, just with less god stuff mixed in. The fact remains, that Russians are the coolest people on the planet.

I can't disagree, with an attempted political coup like this (it's the Ukraine's Internet Party, demanding less corruption).

(It's kinda amusing to see that thirty years onwards, president Reagan was proven right far more literally than he might have ever thought.)

Been watching Key & Peele sketches on youtube. Holy crap these guys are funny. I've seen commercials about them before, though it didn't look like anything I'd like, but having watched some sketches now I'm in stitches. Not only are they funny, but they're really good actors, they're incredible at accents, the sketches are very well written and they use background music to great effect. These are some of my favourites:

It's OK. It's not really my kind of comedy, but they've got some good ideas and references.

I liked the first part of the 'continental' skit, though. smile

    Absurd stuff.

From the material you've shared that you find you funny, I think we have a very different sense of humour, Justin. Which is fine.
