    And even if you did like the first one, you're probably not going to like this. I've just got back from seeing it and Transformers 2 is absolute trash. Bay's films have always been thin on plot, but this movie doesn't even seem to have a script.

    All the new characters are irritating, it has Jurassic Park 2 syndrome where seeing a CGI-robot still looks good but it has no awe factor, and the fights are long and tedious.

    I don't like saying bad things about films, but how hard is it to make a good movie these days?!

    I tend to be more forgiving of a film if it's able to create an impressive spectacle with visuals alone. We shall see how far my forgiveness is willing to be pushed I guess!

    I thought the first one had quite an average script/plot too. Will reserve my judgement till I see this one, though.

    The script in the first one was my no means perfect, but it was good fun and lighthearted. This one is trying to be serious but just comes over as being stupid.

    That's actually one of the major problems I had with the first one surprisingly enough. I didn't really enjoy those 'lighter' moments, I thought they were at odds with much of the rest of the film. I preferred the more pretentious Americana heroic moments! (I know, I'm a traitor to Queen and country.)

    And I wanna see the proper Starscream and Megatron.
    Then I'd be happy.

    There's a good amount of Starscream/Megatron squabbling this time around, but I don't recall Optimus' line.

    the main problem for me where the parents
    they were at least dignified in the first and being funny at the same time. In the second especially the mother is put through a vulgar set of displays that totally ruins it for me

    I still think Bay might as well have made a porno starring Megan Fox with random action scenes of Transformers in-between sex scenes (or during). That's basically the kind of film Michael Bay wants to make.
