    Very cool, this thing here!

Holographic Water Monster In Tokyo Bay

To promote a monster movie, Sony Pictures installed a holographic rig in Tokyo Bay that projects the monster onto a haze of water. What you're seeing in the video wasn't added after the fact—that's actually what it looks like in real life.
The feat uses a water screen (carefully sprayed water jet) and exact light projections to create a giant pseudo-3-D Loch Ness "Water Horse" monster in the ba More..y.

Really a well done piece of advertising and technological demonstrative achievement.

Those firefighters are everyday's heroes and that's just a very small, slight example of caring for any kind of live, compared to the grandeur they serve every day. I was really impressed by this man's action:

I'm kinda reluctant to post my public appearance stuff here, as I already have a whole thread for that over at FSM, and that's really enough. I wouldn't come off as too "self-centered" and all that.

But a little sample wouldn't hurt, I guess.

Here are two youtube clips from my TV series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLy1OghbCEQ (our music video...I'm the first lead singer)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Np6K_WRToI (a Baywatch "spoof" montage...I'm the guy on the right in the FOURTH runner-by picture)

And then another project that has nothing to do with the TV series; i.e. a gig I had recently as a "webpage host" for a business product (my role being somewhat of a "mad professor"):

    http://dev.24sevenoffice.com/webpage/way/

I'm not sure any of that qualifies as "stuff of general interest" (perhaps it would be better in "Funny Videos" or no place at all), but there you go. smile
    I am extremely serious.

Exactly. Actually a video like this is like a much better version of a profile picture!
I wish we could all have a little video in the profile, it's nice to see the whole person, like at the meetings.

Was it done on a DV camera? Or you would have to capture it from VHS/Super8?

I read about a book that has been released with pictures of a woman holding a menu each week during 25 years. The story was this: she and a friend had diner once a week for 25 years. Each week they made a menu of the home made diner and she had to hold it and a picture was taken of her with the menu. Now these photo's are published in a book and from what I've read it gives a nice overview of changing times, the woman aging of course and fashion and trends that show in both the looks of the woman as in the food on the menu!

I have not seen it, but it should be interesting. What I like about it is that the pictures were never meant to be published, it was only for their own fun, to collect the weekly menus.

It was more of a docusoap, I guess, with elements of "feelgood reality".

You can read more about it here, if you wish.

  2. Did you capture them on your computer? If yes, it's quite simple, if not use the basic software to download the material and edit out the stuff you would want to show online. You may use stuff like Windows Movie Maker, you don't need a large editing workstation for that smile.
