    I got that toy when I turned ten. I LOVED the absolutely revolutionary electric sounds it emitted. Do you remember? Engine sounds raising when you shifted the cockpit up (suggesting 'take-off/speeding up) and coming down for landing/slowing down when shifting the ship to a head-down position.

    Things broke off and got lost over the years, although I DID use the cockpit (sound module) for decades after in (home made) audio action adventures I wrote adn recorded....if only because the laser sound was spectacularly good!

    No, I needed the space for Godzilla and a classic-style Cylon raider, of course!

    (Actually, I probably *should* look into getting an Excelsior. I rather envisioned this as a Star Trek 3 tableau, but a 6 one would even be better!)

  8. I don't have any particular interest in cars. Myself I'm driving a rather simple car because I prefer to spend my money for other things. This Bugatti Chiron is a technical and aesthetic showcase rather than a car of practical values. 1500 PS, 420 km/h (electronically limited), 2,5 million €. Insane. But is does look fantastic!

    The Bugatti Veyron is the most beautiful looking car in the world. The Chiron seems to be an extension of the Veyron that has gone a bit too far. I'll stick with the Veyron thank you very much.

  12. The film has a big echo here in Germany. The two creative heads (German film students) behind it have already been invited to Hollywood. The reaction by LucasFilm obviously was a positive one.
    (They initially were concerned about copyright infringements, but it seems no one made a fuss about that.)
    The privately funded film could not afford a live recorded score, so, yeah the stile isn't great also but I would not be too critical about that. It's not easy to find a composer on par with Williams under such circumstances.

    Impressive for being fan-made. But like most Star Wars fan films, they're more interested in making a martial arts movie. (Lightsaber battles should be used sparingly with a focus on narrative rather than spectacle. Thankfully Abrams and Kasdan understood this.)

    Obviously it's all relative, but the score isn't too bad, especially for a fan production.
