Lots and lots of giggles as WILL SMITH will play Pharaoh Taharqa in Randall Wallace (Braveheart)'s latest COLUMBIA film, "THE LAST PHARAOH" produced by Will Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.

It was indeed, a very emotional - albeit THE THIN RED LINE influenced (heavily) - score. But i return to it frequently, i am a sucker for this kind of music.

Yeah, there is specially a cue very, very The Thin Red Line-ish. But the rest of the score is pretty emotional as you say, and the final cues are really good, very dramatic.

Yeah, I'll maybe watch it when it's on TV again sometime!?

Now that D mentions it, I do remember a TRL influence in the score.

It's good mate, i think you'll like it. It's thematic at least and has some very strong pieces (like "Photo Montage").

Yep! That cue is fantastic and a humongous nod to TTRL's Journey to the Line. I do enjoy this score too, it pulls at the heart strings at all the right moments IMO. Makes me more than a little sad while watching the film.

The mansions of the lord is an amzing piece. It was played at Reagan's funeral.

Indeed. I always thought it was a traditional hymn after watching he movie only to find out later that it was Glennie-Smith´s original composition. Amazing theme.

Actually Randall Wallace (the screenwriter of Braveheart and many other films) wrote the lyrics.
  2. He, of course, also directed the film.
