- Comment I need to get that score. I've heard so many people rave about it. I've heard some of the tracks and liked them a lot. I recently decided I need to check out more of Poledouris's work. I've still never heard Starship Troopers or Robocop or Flesh+Blood, or Cherry 2000, or Amerika, or...

- Comment I just finished listening to AVATAR. It's been quite a while since I gave the whole album a listen. It was nice to go back to. Hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since this film and score were released. "Jake's First Flight" ...

- Comment A couple new game scores - I finished a first listen of Derivier's GREEDFALL and am nearly done with Wintory's ERICA. They were both let-downs for me. GREEDFALL had a couple cues I thought were pretty good, but most of it went by without much notice on my part. ERICA's first cue is outstanding, but ...

- Comment I recently got really interested in the history of film and fell all the way down that rabbit hole. After a bunch of research I now have a list of 1000+ films I want to see. I'm starting way back at the beginning, watching some of Edison's company's films and the Lumiere brothers. I then watched a ...

- Comment I saw SHAZAM! over the weekend. The DCEU films have been pretty terrible for me. WONDER WOMAN was okay. I think SHAZAM is my favorite of theirs so far. There are some serious tonal inconsistencies, but for the most part I thought it was really fun. And Wallfisch's score worked really well.

- Comment I've had four(!) kids since 2007. They do keep me busy. But a year ago I finally finished my doctorate and I haven't been in school for the first time in the last 10 years. So I should have more time. I just haven't been as active online. Depression may have something to do with that. It's harder ...

- Comment I'm excited about that one. This morning I listened to season two of Frederik Wiedmann's THE DRAGON PRINCE. It's pretty good. It's too synthy for me a lot of the time, but the solo instruments help get past that. There are some nice highlights.

- Comment PROJECT X - James Horner My first listen to this score ever. I’m really glad Intrada rereleased it. It’s fun to here the genesis of some of his other scores here (MIGHTY JOE YOUNG clearly got its sound from this one, and even THE ROCKETEER has some of its origins here, I think). He also taps ...

- Comment Thanks for all of these reviews, Alan. I checked out Aurora based on your recommendation. I thought the bookending choral pieces were impressive, but a lot of the rest of the album was not to my liking. I'm afraid I'm too simple a man to find a lot of enjoyment in difficult music :)
