- Comment
Thor wrote NP: SPRÜNGE (Herbert Grönemeyer) I have a long back story about this (and Grönemeyer's 4630 BOCHUM), but I won't bore you with it.
This! My sister owned that album (Bochum) on cassette. An original cassette actually. We played it to death! Cheers! Volker

- Comment NP: Legend (1943) Jerry Goldsmith & Tangerine Dream I got the recent release of the Goldsmith score (Silva Screen) and took the occasion to also get the Tangerine Dream CD for a collector's price. Which will probably mean, that Varese Sarabande will re-release it next week. ;) The score by ...

- Comment NP: To Kill A Mockingbird (Elmer Bernstein) The ava re-recording that Intrada just released as a single CD. Recorded with a chamber type orchestra and the contemporary recording equipment one year after the actual film, what you hear is virtually undistinguishable from what you hear in the film. ...

- Comment
Thomas Glorieux wrote Dune How on earth is this one getting 8.4 on IMDB? This has zero emotion, who cares if so many people die? I felt like I was watching a 2 and a half hour movie where nothing happened (story wise)? Arrival had the same cold approach, but it had the ...

- Comment It may have to do with the fact, that as good as the music is, you basically heard it eight times before already. Even the richest musical texture will wear thin eventually. Also, if the music reminds you of a film you don't like, then that isn't helping either. Volker

- Comment I just saw the film. I thought it was great. I liked it much better than the previous one. The CD arrives tomorrow. There were some impressive musical moments, but nothing that really stood out. But then, I am not very good in remembering music when watching a film for the first time. Volker

- Comment NP: Stargate (1994) - David Arnold I sure love this score. The deluxe edition already features 72 minutes of music. It sounds great and I can't see, that any essential music would be missing. So I guess I'll pass on the recently announced expansion by La-La-Land records. Volker

- Comment I found the live performance on YouTube. Taylor has a weird style of conducting, which doesn't matter, since no musician seems to pay him any attention. Probably they are all let by an in-ear metronome. Volker
