- Comment Damn man, you've sure had your share of challenges the past few months. Especially after I said there shouldn't be any health-related problems with Eric. What a bunch of nonsense. :shame: Hoping the remainder of 2010 will be more uplifting for you and your family. And that the cancer ...

- Comment
FalkirkBairn wrote I'm not actually. I genuinely haven't seen the film. But every time I see the clips on trailers for the DVD or when the DVD menu is being displayed on big TVs in places like Tesco stores it looks beautiful.
Clips don't do the total experience justice. Be ...

- Comment
Martijn wrote I recommend the movie highly. It's one of the finest, most beautiful, certainly the most visually stunning films to have come out of China yet. Both score and film are a personal favourite of mine.
About Flying Daggers, it's all those things you've said ...

- Comment My brother should know more as he's in contact with him but I'm sure it's nothing serious. I think the kids are taking up all of the time on the good old PC, so he hasn't been able to log on, it's nothing health-related I think.

- Comment Yeah 8 minutes isn't enough to lure me back to the theatre. Instead I'll just go watch my blu-ray which looks simply gobsmacking on a 50" plasma. :) And cash grab or not, if you don't want to put down the dough, don't go! Simple as that. It's just another chance for people that missed it ...

- Comment [blue]Ultraman Great[/blue] - Sinsuke Kazato A great album with a concert feel to it, full of majestic fanfares, memorable themes and warm orchestrations. So glad I picked this one up. Written for a cheesy as hell looking japanese TV show, but the music doesn't sound like it at all. It ...

- Comment
Scribe wrote I think Howard has been brainwashed by Christopher Nolan and thinks that films about heros don't deserve full-bodied main themes unless the hero has earned them  ...and this was definitely a journey/becoming-the-hero type film. - Comment It has a few good tracks, but nowhere near their early songs or the stuff from The Black album but what I hate most about St. Anger is the overall sound of the recording, it sounds like it was recorded and mixed in a garage sometime in the 80s, with the drums sounding absolutely awful. :(

- Comment METALLICA - DEATH MAGNETIC From the trash metal gods, a huge improvement on their lacklustre 2003 album, St. Anger. This has actually cool riffs and nice lengthy guitar solos. Hetfield's voice isn't what it used to be but the rest of the band play like there's no tomorrow. Over half the ...

- Comment [blue]The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas[/blue] - Horner Always a soothing and gorgeous listen, this must have one of the best themes he has come up with in recent years, not to mention a very distinct magical whimsical atmosphere reminiscent of his early work.
