- Comment Great review. I agree; the last three tracks are excellent. "Glienicke Bridge" is superb musical storytelling, it's enough to make one wish that Newman would write cues longer then 3 minutes...

- Comment
Southall wrote Is it? I thought it was the sound of Newman being more confident (or perhaps, being allowed) to be himself this time round, with less of the Arnold-style stuff than in Skyfall (which admittedly wasn't all that much). I don't get the Powell sound from it.
I ...

- Comment Spectre - Thomas Newman I enjoyed this very much. I actually like how moody and surprisingly subdued much of it is; the piano theme that plays in "Secret Room," "Safe House," and "Out of Bullets" is especially superb and it's classic Newman. I also like that he ...

- Comment Just saw Bridge of Spies. Newman's score works brilliantly, especially towards the end (as I predicted). The Glienicke Bridge scene was the best showing of his music (it'd be great if he wrote more extended cues like that one).

- Comment Bridge of Spies - Thomas Newman I love everything about this score, but three things stand out: 1. The choir. Newman does not write enough choral music. 2. He actually wrote several cues longer than 3 minutes! :cheese: 3. "Homecoming" is classic Newman indeed.
