Entrapment

Christopher Young

" Are you entangled yet? No? Catherine Zeta Jones is! "

Written by Thomas Glorieux - Review of the regular release

Christopher Young is a master in all genres, that even non interesting fare (for other composers) sounds fresh and exciting. Entrapment is to a degree completely that. The lack of a recognizable main theme or a more melodic approach during the action scenes keeps it from becoming memorable. Young's music is however very detailed and shows an enormous list of goodies for people to get excited about. But the general picture is that it transforms into a less interesting affair the moment you realize it doesn't set the bar higher. Entrapment is good, but not great. And sometimes you wished it was just that.

Fine combination between action and drama at first, keeps us interested for a while.
The detail in each track is evident.
Sadly the action music begins to lose appeal, no matter the detail and atonality that goes with it.
The album loses appeal after a while, it sounds much too long.
