The Big Kahuna

Christopher Young

" The small Christopher Young "

Written by Thomas Glorieux - Review of the regular release

The Big Kahuna is not the kind of film where you would expect wonders from the music, and in a way it doesn't. But sometimes little does much, and through various cues you get more than what you bargained for. The opening track in particular is a small highlight for Christopher Young fans, and various cues have a light bouncy touch about them, making them irresistible in their beat and flair. That combined with various songs and source cues make for an easy, short and entertaining background experience. Light Christopher Young mode here, but the answer is nonetheless inviting. For the person wanting to experience some 30 minutes of more interesting background material.

Fun and interesting opening track!
Several tracks (infusing the organ) are bouncy and fun ("Happy Jesus").
"The Lateness of Things" holds a wonderful soft piano version of the main theme.
Short and lovely background affair, even the 3 source cues work wonderfully.
Nothing mindblowing of course, but the source of the film didn't demand that.
