The Jordi Theory was that Tyler tends to put all the good tracks at the start of the album, so really the listener should take (say) the first twelve tracks to be the actual album, and the remainder to just be bonus tracks.

Your theory is correct in those two examples you mention. But if you look carefully the rest of his (already long) discography you´ll see your theory is wrong. Long albums, yes. Disorganized, no.

    Brian Tyler thinks otherwise.

  2. Reading through the Now Playing thread, particularly the Brian Tyler comments about scores such as The Final Destination and Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, I came to think that Tyler's an appropriate composer for today's download era.

I'm finding myself listening through clips of old scores - particularly obscure European TV scores - and cherry-picking single tracks that appeal rather than listening to the entire score (mainly because the entire CD doesn't stand up to listening.) Gone are the days of a developing score as a standard.

Tyler's music, to me at least, is quite enjoyable as I like the style he uses in his orchestrations as well as his "Tyler-isms". But, picking out a handful of tracks from a CD is all that's needed.

    Brian Tyler’s Final Destination

    By Randall Larson • September 23, 2009

Fourth in the franchise launched in 2000 by former X-FILES writers James Wong and Glen Morgan, THE FINAL DESTINATION (known during production as FINAL DESTINATION 4 and FINAL DESTINATION: DEATH TRIP) is the latest variation on the entertaining but formulaic story about a group of teens who seem to cheat death only to find that death has a way of collecting its due all the same.
