    I came up with this idea for a while ago, but I remember it today when I was listening to The Boy Could Fly and Fly Away Home. In movies, especially fantasy/adventure, when someone flying (on one's own, or on vehicles/birds/dandelion seeds/whatever), music tend to be very good. So I made a custom playlist featuring music from flying scenes.

    There are many Hisaishi's, because Hayao Miyazaki loves flying sequences. biggrin

    I'd like to add more tracks from soundtracks I don't own yet, such as Hook, other Harry Potter scores, Toy Story (even though it's just falling with style wink), Dinosaur, Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind, and so on. And I'm sure there are more from movies I'm not familiar with, superhero movies for example.

    Jerry Goldsmith has done a lot of flight sequence music, THE BLUE MAX is full of great soaring music. And my favourite First Flight from SUPERGIRL.

    I also added Yuji Toriyama's The Song of Life, opening theme from japanese TV documentary series THE WORLD HERITAGE. Though it's not from particular flying scenes, it reminds me of the bird's eye view used in this program.

    I have really nice orchestral versions (performed by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), but I couldn't find good samples online. slant
