Help! Name this cue...

    I've been searching for the origin of this cue for 19 years! I first heard it used in a promotional video for a roller coaster back in 1989 and have since heard it a couple of other times in trailers and what not. I found it in this DVD trailer for Disney's Snow White; however it seems to be a blend of "my song" and another one, as I've never this arrangement before.

    Please check out this trailer on YouTube and see if you can identify the source music. Thanks so much for your help. You have no idea how much I'd appreciate finally knowing the source of this music.

    Those 8-notes repeated from 0:27 and onwards reminds me of Horner's "Pagemaster" theme. Anyone else got that impression? Of course that score isn't 19 years old, so finding out where Horner got his inspiration might be worth a try. wink

    By the way, at about 0:24 is where the first cue (the one I've heard elsewhere) appears to transition into the second cue (the one I don't recognize). The rest of the first cue is kind of reminiscent of "Willow's Theme", but it's definitely not from Willow.

    It's called "Reach For The Stars" composed by Richard Harvey for KPM Production Music.

    Go to KPM's web site and do a database search for Reach For The Stars and you can hear the complete piece. It's one of the most popular "original" pieces of trailer music ever used! It's sister track "The Final Accolade" is also quiet impressive!

    I want the entire Fantasia collection. There is another cue on there that I originally heard along with "Reach For The Stars" all those years ago. It's called "Olympus". I gotta have it! Not sure if I can obtain this GREAT music from KPM without being a "credentialed industry type" though. Ugh... the search continues.... Regardless, I am over-joyed to finally know the origin of this music.

    Synthetic orchestra? Could be anything really... Edelman. Zimmer...

    Edelman was the first composer that crossed my mind. I browsed through a few of his scores, which didn't conclude my search. This is a real bummer.

    It certainly sounded like his style, but I couldn't directly match it to one of his scores.
    The sound colour was most like his work on Gettysburg, but the excerpt didn't seem familiar.
