Ha, ha...TRINE? That's just your regular, everyday Norwegian female name. It's like that game from a few years back, called RUNE, which is also another everyday, Norwegian male name. I just find it funny that people create funky video games with these titles! smile TRINE and RUNE.... biggrin
    I am extremely serious.
  1. One would hope they are in the same series then!

  2. You can expect a spin-off release based on these two titles in, oh I don't know, ..... 9 months time? wink

Assassin's Creed II - Jesper Kyd

The album release of Assassin’s Creed II is far too generous and it has a hard time keeping you interested all the way through. Still, even a best-of arrangement on one CD would be a tough sell. As a stand-alone listen, the album has few highlights. If you’re interested in delving into ambient scoring and enjoy the occasional flavor of classic Rock, there’s still a good chance you’ll enjoy some of Kyd’s material. If, on the other hand, you were expecting a convincing and epic adventure score, you’ll be disappointed.

I agree. In fact, I've never really seen the attraction to Kyd's music? It all sounds pretty bland to me.
  3. Freedom Fighters mate, that has some pretty awesome choral moments. punk

And AC II is indeed too long, that's why my own playlist is pretty enjoyable if I do say so myself. What's up with these overlong game soundtrack releases nowadays.

The same with Jack Wall's 'Mass Effect 2' which comes on two discs as well. About half of it is actually decent, the rest is just stuff to fill up the discs.

All three titles are worth listening to - at least once - to select a more listenable selection of tracks.

Another game score that I'm looking forward to (another 2-CD release) is Garry Schyman & Paul Gorman's "choral-fest" Dante's Inferno.

Dante's Inferno! Music from the depths of hell... should be interesting. Been following the game for some time now. Might give score and game a try.

  6. I'm looking for some information.

I'm listening to the score to THQ's game Darksiders. The information with the tracks says that the score's a collaboration between Cris Velasco, Mike Reagan and Scott Morton. However, all the promotional stuff I've read mentions only Cris and Mike. Does anyone if/how Scott Morton contributed?

The promo cd that i have from the agent doesn't mention his name. Where did you read it?

How did you like it btw? I like the crisp, crystal-clear recording and mixing. You can hear everything and it's pretty organic. Loved the choir too. Some of the marching drums get on my nerves though from time to time, especially when there's not a theme to back some pieces up.

The names are listed as the artists in the individual tracks off Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Darksiders-Offi … p;sr=301-1

But this information can be very unreliable from Amazon.

Anyway, I found the information I needed at Scott Morton's site:

"...There were 3 of us composers total on this project ... Cris Velasco and Mike Reagan did a sweet main theme (awesome solo singer!) and most of the combat music, along with some amazing choral tracks. Very great stuff; kudos to those God of War music vets! On the flip side, the music I had the opportunity to write for the game is mostly the "background-y" stuff (area music and cinematics underscore..."

Interesting. The cd doesn't mention his name, but then again it's only a sleeve of front and back cover. No booklet.
