Look forward Volker to another golden age review this time the new Kritzerland release called "Preminger at Fox." Part of the review will involve a discussion of film noir.

That's an interesting discussion, since film noir is often mistaken for a GENRE while it is -- in actuality -- a STYLE.I am extremely serious. -

Can't a style define a genre?

Not really, if you follow film theory on the topic. It can be PART of a genre, but cannot define it in itself. A crucial element of a genre is its semantic components.I am extremely serious. -

I just received from Naxos a recording of his cabaret songs. It is more than interesting it adds to the complete works of Waxman that I seem to have

Worried about the sound quality (as I always prefer rerecordings than crackly old material this age), but the selections are intriguing. Some of them, I already have bits and pieces of.I am extremely serious.
