The previous edition of the "Charlie bit me" game is here. Here's another set of clips from movies about kids (mostly).

You get 2 points for identifying each clip (composer and movie). 17 clips from 16 movies. Max of 34 points to play for. As usual send your guesses by PM. I'll probably keep this running until next weekend.

The clips are not in any particular order. However I've split them into easy, medium and tough categories.

Easy (Clips #1-5)
Perhaps no hints are needed. The composers and themes are well known.

Medium (Clips #6-10)
(You might be able to get the composer right away)

#6 Legendary composer. The movie is about a rich kid and a poor kid trading places.

#7 The composer should be easy to figure out. There's a cute little kid with her hair in twirls

#8 Film musical adaptation of a classic children's novel. Composer is a give-away from the style.

#9 Popular book but the movie didn't do well. Kids lose their father and stay with evil grandma. And who else to score this dark drama than a horror expert?

#10 The director likes to set love stories amidst times of terrorism. This is his 4th 'terrorist' film. Adopted kid wants to find her true parents. No score release. Clip taken from dvd and hence a bit noisy.


Tough (Clips #11-15)
The composers are not well known (mostly).

#11 Based on a true story about a victim of child abuse. The infant martyr of Quebec. Canadian composer.

#12 A child so pure at heart that he thinks all the money he stumbled on is from God. The director's popularity shot through the roof recently.

#13 A 2003 Italian remake. The 1960s Hungarian version was an Oscar nominee. From an Italian composer who is not an easy listen. These street kids are trying to protect their friend from losing his home near the saw-mill.

#14 French film from 2006. French composer. When her sister runs away from home this girl gets all the beatings from an abusive dad, and suffers in silence. You might think that Martijn and this composer were separated at birth.

#15 Spanish film. 13 Goya award nominations but only won one of them. Coming of age story set during the start of the Spanish Civil war. Composer is also a director.

Bonus

Bonus #1 Debut feature length film of this director. Sundance festival award winner. Unfortunately it did not get an Oscar nom (foreign film category). Director is a film music fan and posts infrequently on FilmScoreMonthly. The movie is dedicated to Michael Kamen and Basil Poledouris.
Soundtrack.net has pics from the scoring sessions. The movie is scheduled to get a wider release in the US this year.
