Thomas is WAY too strung-out for calming music.
I say go for the gusto, bite the bullet, mush your mind and come out the other end!

I could throw in a bunch of Italian suggestions but I'm guessing you don't want the obscure ones.

OK. Since you like JM Jarre and a bit of electronics and also since Franz suggested Solaris, how about Code 46 by The Free Association? That's a hypnotic score dominated by electronics, but of the calm kind. I don't like electronic stuff much but this is one of the few that I enjoy.

I nearly put in an entry for this one too. Quite a nice score.

I find it interesting that not one other person named an older score.
    listen to more classical music!
  3. How about A Patch of Blue by Jerry Goldsmith or Somewhere In Time by John Barry? If Peggy Sue Got Married had more to the official soundtrack, I'd recommend that also.

At FSM that would be odd. Here, it's just normal. Plus, those who know Thor's tastes know that he has something of a contemporary bias. wink

Stuck with Marianelli and Desplat. Thos have great, relaxing music!

Also quite some works by James Horner: THE NEW WORLD, Bicenteniall Man, Bobby Jones to name a view...

I'm not sure what "concept albums" does mean...? But anyway I can recommend some calm & relaxed scores:

Dark Blue Almost Black (Pascal Gaigne) - it's download-only release by MovieScore Media. I knew nothing about this composer and film, but this is now one of my most frequently played albums.

Spanglish, As Good As It Gets and The Holiday (Hans Zimmer) - Hans "bam bam" Zimmer can be calm when needed wink

The Magic Of Marciano (HGW, promo) - I got it just few days ago but now it's growing on me.

Whisper Of The Heart (Yuji Nomi) - It may be a little harder to get this outside Japan, but I highly recommend this! Very subtle and beautiful.

Kikujiro (Joe Hisaishi) - One of the most catchy & beautiful themes played by piano and strings throughout the album.

Almost all tracks from Hisaishi's Piano Stories albums - They're not soundtracks but full of relaxing music smile
Labels are for cans, not people. - Anthony Rapp
