Hello All,
Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a graphic designer in California. I started collecting soundtracks back in the early 90s. I became rather obsessed with collecting all of John Barry's scores as well as film scores in general. With Jerry Goldsmith's passing and losing hope of John Barry getting "Back In Action", I lost some interest and started collecting classic rock. What would the world be like without Music... -

Hiya Greg Anyone with that healthy a taste for John Barry is most welcome by me, unlike somewhere like FSM there aren't very many Barry fans on this site.

Hi Greg!
Good to have you onboard. How did you get to this site?
We actually have a topic for introductions, but as we aren't known for keeping on topic very much anyway, it's no biggie.
Well, welcome again, and hope you enjoy your stay.

I was looking around for James Horner links and somehow ended up at www.moviemusicuk.us and followed the link.
As far as the introductions "topic"... I got rather lost with the endless trail of posts and replies. What would the world be like without Music... -

Fair enough.
Are you having a bit of trouble with teh quote function?'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

I think I'm having trouble figuring out how to respond.
Never done this before... What the heck is a permalink? What would the world be like without Music... -
- CommentTimeJul 23rd 2009 edited
Greg, quoteing is meant to convey which of the messages you are responding to.
If you push the quote button on a post (the FIRST icon: the "word balloon" one on the right), the post will automatically be quoted into you own comment box, complete with a note who wrote the post in the first place.
You are then at liberty to edit that post further or add your own commentary.
Then when you're done, push the "add your comment" button below.
If you just want to add a post, simply type in the "add your comments" box (as you've done a couple of times before) and push the "add your comment" button below.
Hope this helps clarify matters a little?

That's when you want to hyperlink to a specific post, rather than quote it.
For example, if I wanted to link to your second post, I'd use the permalink function to identify it (it's http://www.maintitles.net/forum/discuss … n/#Item_10 ), and then use that with the URL function in the black ribbon above to make it a hyperlink.
Like this.
Clicking this hyperlink will now take you to your second post (http://www.maintitles.net/forum/discuss … n/#Item_10).
I'd leave it for now though. It's very rarely useful.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Is 'Quote' the third icon from your POV Martijn? Because for me it's the first. Then permalink. Then Send PM."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Oh damn!!
You're absolutely right!
I forgot I have Special Moderator Powers with more icons.
Indeed, for everyone else it's the FIRST icon! The Word Balloon one!
Thanks Gilles!! I've edited my original post.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -
