  1. Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman are two composers who came from rock music. John Barry and Lalo Schifrin were respected jazz musicians before they started to do film music.

Did Al Jolson do this only because it was a film about Jazz and then not do any more?

I was actually referring to Eric Clapton in
    Mickey Rourke - Homeboy.

Michael Kamen was involved in that one too!

Is Edge of Darkness very good listening?
What is the overall tension level?

I have the Main Theme (6:02 minutes) on the CD "Michael Kamen's Opus". Is there enough good stuff on those 18 minutes to make it worth buying the regular release?

It says "Music by Michael Kamen and Eric Clapton, Performed by Michael Kamen, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn" in the opening credits for the first film. Though the score does sound 100% Kamen to me.
  2. Clapton scored the movie Rush himself. I guess on Lethal Weapons he just improvised his parts.
