Volcanoes and other awesome phenomena

Warning: black humour ahead.
I call Vesuvius boring because, even though he* has become one of the best studied and monitored in the world, and everybody is afraid of his* next eruption...well, Vesuvius just sits there in the background of both Naples and Pompeji, appearing serene and non-threatening.
Once things will start to get hot again (could be next year or hundred years from now), good ol' Naples will be fucked, pure and simple. Italian catastrophy management? Sweet Betsy. And the elderly will once again go "Ave Maria! Save us from the Wrath of God and....AAAAHHHH!" *pyroclastic flows buries them all*
Here's a great video of the last eruption of Vesuvius in 1944: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bsmv6PyKs0&fmt=18 Stuff like that makes me happy in my pants!
* I sometimes refer to volcanoes as male. -

Have you gone to Pompeii yet? It's a living monument of the volcano's power, at a city that too underestimated it since it hadn't erupted for 1500 years before that.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Pompey? I can assure you there is no volcano in Pompey. Just ample amounts of chavs and university students.
Wait.
Did you say Pompey or Pompeii? -

Well, technically yes. More like an over-grown town in reality.
(I only class a city as a proper city if Spider-Man is able to do his thang. He wouldn't get very far in Portsmouth.) -

If you think Portsmouth is barely a city you should see Wells in Somerset ( a stonesthrow from Glastonbury ), once you walk past the cathedral that's pretty much it!On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
