And I already can tell I will be the only posting such videos... Here's the first one from a couple of months back!

Not a valid link I'm afraid, it just goes to my facebook inbox. -

Same here. I just go to my facebook inbox. Perhaps we need to be facebook pals first? However, there are like a million Christian Kühns there.I am extremely serious. -

Not bad at all.
But you should get yourself a good conducting baton instead of that pencil. Oh, and a black turtle neck would also help... -

It's taking me to my inbox too... -

Cool video!
BTW I don't have a facebook account and the first time I clicked on the above link it took me to an account creation page with CK's university email filled out in the email section. Crazy! Breach of privacy and whatever.
I clicked back on my browser and retried the link and this time it worked.
So you folks might want to logout of facebook and try those links again. -

Thanks, BhelPhuri. It worked when I logged out.
Well, Christian, air conducting is a special artform that includes such aspects as conducting in SYNCH with the piece rather than staying AHEAD of it like real conductors and also a considerable amount of air waving that increases proportionally with the volume of the music, so in that perspective you get an A+!I am extremely serious. -

You know, Thor, I showed one of these videos (not Totoro) to a professional musician and he said that the only thing that I should tone down would be my "wind-milling" (i.e., small, precise movements with the baton are just fine). Everything else, from hitting the beats, change of meter, coming in of instruments, expression, was almost flawless in his opinion. He also said that a professional orchestra would have no problems following me.
Needless to say, I was rather chuffed at that comment (not that it will ever happen...).
Oh, and I did get a proper baton in the meantime. From the Hollywood Bowl, no less! -

I used to do a lot of air conducting in my teenage years. Very embarassing, but it was in the safety of my own room.I am extremely serious. -

No air conducting at an upcoming Cheers meeting then? The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -
