I look forward to your review Tom. A lot of choice selections on this set.

  2. Some of these films aren't horror films, and some of these cues aren't in in horror music-like style, or even "Scary". It's almost like this was compilled by someone who doesn't know what horror music, or horror films are. That's the only scary thing here.

I agree Jason that some of the material isn't close to scary at all. On the otherhand, there is some good stuff.

Agreed... I grinned. I laughed silently. cheesy

This box looks like quite the compilation, but I don't get why some films that clearly aren't horror films per se are on there (Ghostbusters, The Mummy, King Kong). That's to even out the constantly creepy music I would asume.

I agree. Certain selections "stretch" the definition of horror quite a bit. ZODIAC, for crying out loud?

That said, I'm mixed on this release. On the one hand, I really dislike traditional horror film music. On the other hand, the "theme" presentation here (avoiding much of the sneaking-around cues and stingers that are the primary reason for my dislike) would probably make me tolerate it. Still, this isn't for me.
    I am extremely serious.

I have to agree Thor. It certainly has the wrong title. On the otherhand what do you call it?

What about 'suspense' instead of 'horror'?

You could but it would eliminate certain titles such as Horror of Dracula, Omen, and some others. Tough call for Silva.
