Directed by Jonathan King (Black Sheep) and based on the best-selling novel by Maurice Gee, horror adventure Under the Mountain takes you an wild and energetic orchestral roller-coaste ride courtesy of New Zealand's brightest film composer, Victoria Kelly.
Exquisitely performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the score for this dark suspense- and action-filled adventure, is a huge work where a number of strong themes and ideas - and truly top-notch orchestrations - makes for an exciting Hollywood style film score. If you are a fan of BIG scores such as David Arnold's Godzilla and John Williams' Jurassic Park, this one is for you!
Our release of the score co-incides with the New Zealand premiere of the film on December 10.

Thank you Mikael. I got this one today and it goes with the rest of the 2009 scores that are really worth listening to.

Very cute even!
(Though obviously it should be all about her music.
But still... )'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

It never is just all about their music, with beautiful women composers (very, very few admittedly).Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

She's mine. Lay off!I am extremely serious. -

Well, I'm listening to her music now and this is dark and big brass section galore. Kelly definitively has the chops!
Good to add to the list after Shirley Walker and Debbie Wiseman. -

Demetris will hate me, but I'd add Debbie Lurie. She's a cool person too!http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website -

I think the latter part influences (or biases) your liking of her Her music is totally forgettable, nothing to notice there.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Another cute film composerin from Norway who is also a soon-to-be colleague of mine at montages.no with her own blog, even though she's situated in LA, is Kristin Dyrud: http://www.kristindyrud.com
Hey, perhaps we should have a separate topic on (cute) female film composers?I am extremely serious. -

Have we gone back to the stone age!?
Anyway, what's puzzling me is how these female composers find time to do it in between doing the ironing, cooking and cleaning? -
