Well, of course the A-Team movie will suck. It'll be a childhood butt fucking with one-liners, little plot, CGI, and action for the sake of action. Chunk blowing dreck -- no question about it, but Silvestri's score on the other hand ... could be good. Hoping for somethin similar to his work on "Sgt. Bilko". For those who haven't heard that score, I can make a suite with some bits, if interested. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

I'm surprised to be the first to mention that INCEPTION will be one of my most anticipated projects, especially after the kick-ass new trailer. After that, I'm already looking forward quite a while to Desplat's Malick score, TREE OF LIFE, the mysterious project that apparantly will feature Brad Pitt and dinosaurs and will be shown in IMAX - a Malick first.
Of course, Goldenthal has my full attention again, as does Shore - he just wowed me too much in the past to not sit up and pay attention whenever he does something. The same goes for Javier Navarrete; will look forward to THE HOLE (albeit a little unfortunate title to follow-up CRACKS).
As for the other projects... meh, I'll just take 'em as they come. -

In other words, much like the classic and beloved series?'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Except without the '80's goodness, Mike Post scoring, but with CGI and today's film making "standards". At least when the '80's TV series were "okay" at best, they were still pretty good. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

That's rather a contradiction in terms for me.
Let's face it: the A-Team was never *good*, no matter how much nostalgia you heap upon it (and yes, I have seen every single episode in its day, and enjoyed every bit of it.
Especially the one that started in the Universal Theme Park, where Face met an old friend. Still love that clip.

there are some very interesting titles on that list, and the ones that rank highest are the epic titles (Centurion, Chronicles of Narnia 3, Prince of Persia and the Last Airbender)
here's hoping it will be the year of the epic orchestral scores

Baffling why anyone would be interested by it, though. We already know what it sounds like. You could get anyone in the world to write the score and the whole point of its existence would be to blend into the background and avoid being noticed - that's what the director wants. -

Wait wait wait. Just let me get this straight..... they're doing a remake of the A-Team?
Hang on, let me repeat that.
THEY'RE DOING A REMAKE OF THE A-TEAM?!?
Jesus. Wept.
Even if it's good, why the hell would they want to make a film about the A-Team!? That's almost as stupid as the other recently Silvestri-scored film; G.I.Joe.

I thought you already knew? It's equally stupid, as G.I.JOE. And many other utterly pointless hollywood remakes. Don't even bother
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I heard that's what a male will get after consuming large quantities of Looza Ace.
I wouldn't add A-Team or Iron Man 2 on such list. Those seem not interesting at all. Tree of Life most certainly is the most anticipated one for me I think. And I look forward to the Daft Punk score.
Completely agree. But they're bound to attract much buzz, particularly in film music related forums, unfortunately.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

A geeky Star Wars joke? Or is that scored with an "i" instead of an "e"?
As for Armstrong, his choral writing is impressive indeed. If he decides to turn back to his roots instead of the uninspired crappy rc loops he has been doing for the last 2 years or so, then i am sure we're in for something very good!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Btw, Shore's will be another snoozer i am afraid. Unless something wakes him up from the snooz stage he's in. And who actually awaits Daft Punk's score?
Great work Mikael, there's some good points to focus on, in there.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

No, Obi-Wan, in his previous incarnation as Alec Guiness was actually a CBE: a Commander of the British Empire, which is one level more senior than Officer of the British Empire.
Both ranks are part of the Order of the British Empire, though.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn
