It's not the Symphony concert from Antwerp Thomas, it's really a concert wit only music from ROTK.

I even think The Two Towers is somewhere in April, also in the Royal Albert Hall.

So how does these things work exactly? Do they play the entire film non-stop with the orchestra playing? Do they have to pause it to sync up? Are there sound effects and dialogue over the music?

Entire film, no pauses (except a 15 minute break in the middle), and with dialogue and SFX.

Went on the 29th, and I thought I was a fantastic performance. The ultimate way to watch a movie - at least for a film music fan smile The orchestra was great, the choir and solo voices were AMAZING, and on top of that, one of the best movies ever. Oh, and as a bonus, Howard Shore came on stage (as a surprise, I guess) at the end, to standing ovations. Couldn't have been better! beer

It was rather good, wasn't it? Did you spot all the previously unused cues that had been restored?

I only noticed the added beginning to Shelob The Great. What else was there?

There are some busier ones on my FB.

How did you get into (what I assume are) the rehearsals, Jim?

    I asked politely. smile

There are around thirty additions and changes throughout (a bit of additional chorus here, and added brass line there) -
The Palantir has some additional sections restored (including some that didn't make it to any version of the film or the Complete Recordings).
A Coronal of Silver and Gold has the massive choral crescendo restored as Frodo is lured toward Minas Morgul.
Mount Doom includes the contrapuntal statement of all the ring themes.
