  3. Freaky, freaky coincidence, but Mr. Gerhard just agreed to an interview with me as well, a couple days ago -- as we speak I am writing up the questions. Primarily dealing with "Batman: The Animated Series" (for my B:TAS scores site), but also other questions. Hope to turn the questions in tonight.

    Not really. That one is more than long enough. Heck, it could even do with some trimming!

    No, I'd love to see a brand-new, premiere Williams release, in which case I will at least tolerate the inevitable C&C presentation (i.e. the value of having it available is higher than an undesired mode of presentation).

    Well, there are a few of us who'd love to hear the complete final battle music from Hook, me included. wink And those few are enough to make the limited edition title vanish like snow on a frying pan!

    Indeed. And what's great about expanded or complete releases is you can make your perfect album from it (especially if it's worth the effort like Hook is). I did that with the recent Avatar 3 CD promo and I now have one of my favourite listens in my collection, one that I much prefer over the official album. In fact, I enjoy making my own 'albums' (playlists), it's oddly satisfying.

    I am not a big fan of C&C releases either but since Hook is my absolute favourite Williams score and one of my all-time favourite scores, I would definitely buy a new, longer release.
    For me, the existing album doesn't seem so long, even though it's over 70 minutes. It's one of those scores where all the tracks are wonderful.

    I'd say that 80-85% of it is, but there's some mickey-mousey action music there that could easily have been weeded out to give the album better flow.

    A complete Hook would be great, but then again, any expanded Williams score will do!

    As long as it's expanded. Or even better, complete. As in, all the music Williams composed for the film, including the great music he always cuts from the album. Did I mention it'll undoubtedly make for an awesome listening experience?

    "Banning Back Home" is really cool Williams jazz, almost acid-type. "When You're Alone" is likewise a very beautiful song, but plagued somewhat by the girl's cutesy vocal performance. "We Don't Wanna Grow Up" I can give or take, but I can see it working in a different, less school-play-type arrangement.

    This is a lie of course.

    But Hook complete, oh man, that would get into my collection no matter what the price. punk The regular album has a hard time showing the highlights because IMO the entire score is the highlight. A true highlight in Williams' already astounding career full of highlights.
