Have I missed something? All of the UK's airspace seems to have cleared up all of a sudden and all the airports seem to be open for business!

I woke up and looked out the window to see clear blue skies...and three vapor trails!!

The bad boy has woken up again.

Eyjafjoll increased activity further on May 7th turning into more explosive eruptions with lava flow stopped sending ash clouds up to 11500 meters (about FL380) again. As a result airports in northern Portugal, northern Spain including Barcelona, and southern France have been closed or are being closed. The high ash cloud also affects transatlantic flights requiring large detours.

An even weirder language is Greenlandic. It has huge words to say simple things.

    For example:
Inuit tamarmik inunngorput nammineersinnaassuseqarlutik assigiimmillu ataqqinassuseqarlutillu pisinnaatitaaffeqarlutik. Silaqassusermik tarnillu nalunngissusianik pilersugaapput, imminnullu iliorfigeqatigiittariaqaraluarput qatanngutigiittut peqatigiinnerup anersaavani.

"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." (Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights)

    I'm not joking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenlandic_language). biggrin

I found Greenlandic to be hilarious when I first read about it. Lots of 'tits' and 'tuts' and 'lul's. The Nordic languages are extra ordinary.

  1. Can sombody please tell me to which god or gods I need to make offerings to to ensure that the plane trafic is going to be operating normal (i.e. not interupted by good old Eyjafjallajökul) when I need to fly to Tenerife for the International Film Music Festival to hear Bear McCreary and his gang perform Battlestar galactica music with a symphonic orchstra and choir.

A timelapse of the eruption on the first 2 days in May. Fantastic images. Iceland must be the most awe-inspiring country on this planet (as far as my mind goes).

The music is by Jonsi, who is the lead singer of Sigur Ros and recently went solo.
