    (New York, NY – July 6, 2010) On July 13th, Times Square Records will release THE HISTORY OF INDIAN FILM MUSIC – A SHOWCASE OF THE VERY BEST IN HINDI CINEMA, the first ever authentic historic collection of Bollywood music tracing its history from its beginnings in 1930 to the present.

    Accompanied by a hard bound book tracing the history of the music with rare pictures, this set in stellar packaging features the greatest Bollywood hits of all times, and is produced as a joint collaboration by two of the oldest media companies in the subcontinent of India; Saregama (formerly The Gramophone Company of India) and The Times of India Group (the oldest News Media Corporation in India).

    Sounds spectacular....right up my alley.

    I hope there's Indian music OUTSIDE Bollywood too, though, like Ravi Shankar's music for Ray's APU trilogy or similar "independent" fare.
    I am extremely serious.

    I guess that's just the songs? I've long been looking forward to them actually releasing score material from Hindi films on CD, especially A.R Rahman's scores.

    Yeah, it would be cool if they had included some score tracks too, especially considering it's such an impressive set. But I doubt it.
