  1. I have fond memories of the faux Salvation Army band that keeps crossing Batman's path during this setpiece from the 60's Batman film:

I might trot that one out in my next class on using source music for effect in films. There'll probably be sniggers from those who would rather see only one kind of Batman, but this is well done.

Ahhhh...I'd buy this series on DVD in a Holy Heartbeat, Batman, if it weren't tied up in all sorts of legalities that prevent such an issue.

    But only after:

"Somedays you just can't get rid of a bomb!"

Oh, I remember a handful of lines from the TV series:

Guy on a train being robbed by one of the non main villains: Puts his hands up, "I'm a bachelor, but I want to live anyway."

Robin falls off a buildings and Batman throws a Bat-a-rang (or whatever) down on a rope. Robin catches it with his mouth and Batman pulls him up. batman makes a comment like:

Batman: "Thank goodness for good oral hygene, Robin."

(was this from the show or the movie?)

Batman walks into a bar dressed as ... Batman. Someone approaches him and asks him something like:

Lady/or Guy: "Sir, would you like us to call a table for you?" (or maybe it was: "Can I take your cape for you?")

Batman: "No thanks -- I don't wish to draw attention to myself."

Hilarious. I'd love to see that scene.

  3. I don't have headphones available to me, but this might be it -- it also features a "legendary" scene from the series:

I don't know, he redeemed himself with his movies lately, and Daredevil was not (entirely) his fault but the basic fact the movie was ridiculous

    let's wait and see
Cavil was decent enough in Man of Steel, but he didn't save the movie either, so
    waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh

I loved Cavill as SUPERMAN, but Affleck as Batman is shite news! It's like when the rather feminine Billy Zane got the role as The Phantom back in the mid 90's. Very bad move.

Fortunately for me, I'm not that really concerned about Batman, so I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist about it.
    I am extremely serious.

As for this next movie... I don't know. I was hoping some development of Superman would be good, now I don't know what development it will be. But we'll see. It's not that important to me.
  5. It'll be some kind if group therapy ... encounter group thing.

I miss the times when super hero films were fun and uncomplicated.

I don't have any problem with him as an actor, I just didn't like him as Supes, that's all.

True, I don't like the muscles at all, he looks much better without them. His face is just so pretty. And his smile and his hair and... dizzy now.

  7. Yawn. Very few superhero movies can interest me anymore, Man of Steel wasn't one of them and this certainly doesn't look like it will either.

I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility that Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy featuring Rocket Raccoon will make more money than Warner/DC's desperate Superman/Batman cashgrab.

And that would be so hilariously ironic.

Do you know that Marvel's GUARDIANS will feature Rocket Raccoon?

Unlike Marvel, DC haven't got their universe together on screen yet.

That look is a pretty clear lift from Frank Miller's Dark Knight (which Snyder said was the main inspiration)!
