    Thirteen Memorable Moments In Horror Film Music

    presented by Howlin' Wolf Records
    featuring guest writer Jason Comerford

    October brings a month long celebration at Howlin' Wolf Records! Be certain to visit the Howlin' Wolf Records website during the month of October for our special series, 13 CHILLS, written by guest writer Jason Comerford, showcasing thirteen memorable moments in horror movie music.

    Each installment will feature perspective and analysis by film music buff and journalist Jason Comerford, imagery and video clips from the selected films, an mp3 excerpt highlighting the "Moment In Question," along with an opportunity for individuals to submit for posting their own comments and perspective for each installment.

    PRIZES
    As a special bonus during this month long celebration, each installment will give readers the chance to enter a drawing to win autographed score CDs and DVDs of MIDNIGHT MOVIE, rare limited edition OOP horror film scores including VAMP, THE BRIDE, and PARASITE, plus others. In addition we are working to line up other goodies such as a promo score from an up and coming composer.

    While you're there, check out Howlin' Wolf Records latest release MIDNIGHT MOVIE by Penka Kouneva, along with previous releases SILENT NIGHT, BLOODY NIGHT by Gershon Kingsley and MALEVOLENCE by Stevan Mena.

    Saw the clip from The Innocents. Why is it that children songs are often used to create creepy moments?

    Bregt, I have noticed the same thing regarding using the innocence of a child singing to convey a creepy, ominous tone. The young girl in The Innocents humming reminds me a great deal of Anne, the young girl in The Others, humming.
