What made your day that little better pt. II?

It's Norway's national day today, and it's a big deal to us. Everyone is dressing up in suits and national costumes, all the children across our long and winding country are walking in parades and everyone's out. The weather is unstable, but I'm hoping it's at least rain-less, as I'm having a few friends over for a lunch in my garden.
So if you'll allow a bit of patriotism, here's our national anthem:

I'm obviously biased, but I've always found it a very haunting melody. Melancholic, yet uplifting.I am extremely serious. -

It's BETTER than the British National Anthem.
Of course, THIS is how the British National Anthem would sound if Carlberg did National Anthems http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73eB-aAo8EgOn Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

The "restless leg syndrome" has quieted down. When it moves on its own it is quite annoying.listen to more classical music! -

I had an interview this morning that was done over the phone - my first phone interview. And it was not seeing the interviewers.
It was a sort of first interview. I should find out if I have made it to a second interview. The job would require moving to another part of the country so feelings are mixed. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Strange having a telephone interview...I've never had any like that before!
But a rough call, Alan! Having to move to the other side of the country? I'd really have to think VERY hard before uprooting like that...'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

I know. Particularly with having a family and everything. It is going to be a difficult choice if it comes to that.
Maybe having a bit of an income from freelancing may mean that we can hold off for the job offer that offers more in terms of limiting upheaval?
We will see...The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I passed the first (out of three) professional exams become a Chartered Accountant.
The first, was the path of God: Only the penitent man shall pass.
Now,
Second, is the word of God: Only in the footsteps of God, shall he proceed.
Finally,
Last is the breath of God: Only in a leap from the lion's head shall he prove his worth.
Revenge is sweet... Revenge is best served cold... Revenge is ice cream. -

A nuthatch flew into one of our windows this afternoon. Unfortunately the window was closed. For a while I thought that it had been killed but after 5-10 minutes it started to come round. I was a bit groggy for ages and it wasn't for another 10 minutes that it felt well enough to fly off back into the trees.
I don't think it had broken anything and I hope it makes a full recovery. There are a lot of fledgling birds in the garden at the moment and the nuthatch may itself be a parent. There was certainly a lot of frantic nuthatch calling from the trees when the bird first flew into the window. And once the bird was feeling better it was calling a lot.
I quite enjoyed standing by the bird whilst it was helpless. There are 3-4 cats around the neighbourhood and the bird wouldn't have stood a chance. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Back home after nine hours shopping for sofas and furniture. Successful day shopping but such a long day!
I'd decided we should get out by nine this morning so we could be done by lunchtime. How naive of me!The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I know! We did stop for some lunch. And we only started buying things 6-7 hours into the search. But we did manage to get things.
But I don't understand how it takes 8-10 weeks to deliver furniture from their warehouse. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Although many of you will identify this as a guitar and not a table, it does give you an idea of how mango wood can look:

Spent a lovely day driving to Sailsbury and through Devizes in Wiltshire, glorious baking sunshine and gorgeous scenery, this is the heart of 'picture post card' England, gloriously verdant green hills and wooded valleys and ancient stone cottages with thick thatch all along ancient Roman roads.
The Living Daylights and The Bourne Supremacy were amongst the plays on the car stereo. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Actual conversation from a meeting I was in at work earlier, all done sincerely:
"Dave and Phil never have time to check the action log to find out what they need to do before this meeting."
"Sue, will you add an action to the log that tells Dave and Phil to check the action log more often?" -

Every now and then I trawl YouTube, etc for clips of old TV shows. Talking about old TV themes over on the "Now Playing" topic set me off a-hunting again. I came across a clip to the TV show I remember watching, Holmes and Yo-Yo.
I'd completely forgotten that Yo-Yo was a
robot
!
