LAKESHORE RECORDS TO RELEASE THE SKIN I LIVE IN ORIGINAL SCORE

Original Music Composed by Alberto Iglesias

(October 3, 2011- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release The Skin I Live In -- Original Score Album available digitally on October 18th and in stores on November 29, 2011. The score was composed by Alberto Iglesias (The Kite Runner, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

“The composer Alberto Iglesias,” said Pedro Almodóvar, is “the only artist I know without an ego, tireless, versatile, patient, capable of looking in one direction and then looking in the opposite direction, always subject to the dictates of the story.”

“I had to go to pure emotion in order to play in the same scale that the film does,” said Iglesias. “It has been a privilege to make this journey that brings you to the exact core of the music.”

Spain’s most acclaimed composer, Alberto Iglesias, has solid classical training that includes piano, guitar, composition and counterpoint, as well as electronic music studies. Iglesias was nominated for two Academy Awards, for The Constant Gardener and The Kite Runner.

A composer for the concert hall (orchestra, ensemble and string quartet), Alberto Iglesias’ work in ballet also includes original scores for dancer/choreographer Nacho Duato and his National Dance Company. He has composed scores for such avant-garde Spanish directors as Pedro Almodóvar (The Flower of My Secret, Live Flesh, All About my Mother, Talk to Her, Bad Education, Volver and Broken Embraces), Julio Médem (Vacas, La ardilla roja, Tierra, Los amantes del Círculo Polar, Sex and Lucia), Iciar Bollain (Take my eyes, También La Lluvia), Bigas Luna (La camarera del Titanic) and Carlos Saura (Dispara).

Mr. Iglesias also composed scores for the films Comandante, The Dancer Upstairs, Che, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault.

In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed three more things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig.

Sony Classics presents The Skin I Live In in theaters on October 14, 2011. The Skin I Live In – Original Motion Picture Score on Lakeshore Records will be released digitally on October 18th and in stores on November 29, 2011.
