SILVA SCREEN RECORDS PRESENTS
SHERLOCK
The intelligent, funny and thrilling soundtrack to the fast-paced contemporary hit remake of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic
Composed by David Arnold (Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Hot Fuzz, Paul, Little Britain) and Michael Price (The Inbetweeners Movie, Hot Fuzz, Paul) the soundtrack encompasses a small orchestra, samples and soloists. This highly acclaimed score has received BAFTA and Emmy nominations and won an RTS Television Award. The follow-up soundtrack to the second series of Sherlock, currently aired on the BBC, is scheduled to be released in May 2012 to coincide with the airing of the second season in the United States.
“If David Arnold and Michael Price did not exist, it would be necessary for man to invent them. Their contribution to Sherlock is immeasurable. Thrilling, cheeky, sinister, playful and simply world-class…the music's not bad either.”
- Mark Gatiss (Sherlock and League of Gentlemen creator)
The BBC One season of three Sherlock Holmes films was the summer hit of 2010 with over 7.5m viewers watching the first episode. This contemporary adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic novel was created by Steven Moffat (Doctor Who, Coupling) and Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen, Doctor Who) and the series stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, Martin Freeman as Doctor Watson and Rupert Graves as Inspector Lestrade.
Michael Price
Following a successful career as a contemporary dance composer, Michael moved into films in 1996 when the late Michael Kamen invited him to orchestrate electronic sounds for the Paramount movie Event Horizon. This led to a five-year working relationship encompassing a number of highly successful film scores in London, LA and Prague, and concerts in Berlin, New York, San Francisco and Geneva. Michael has worked on a number of major films including the Academy Award winning feature Children of Men, comedy hit, Hot Fuzz, and Quantum of Solace.
David Arnold
David is one of the UK’s leading film composers and is behind the contemporary scores to the updated James Bond franchise – Casino Royale and Day Another Day. He has also penned the scores to a host of blockbuster movies including Stargate, Independence Day and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

I did! I like how the three themes are blended into the score. As you know I'm not a big modern soundtrack fan.

I just received and am listening to season two of Sherlock. It starts out with a solo violin playing the "Irene" theme which is a definite throwback style, which my golden ears approve of.

I got the CD of Sherlock Season 2 in the mail which allowed me to compare the sound between it and the MP3 I got earlier. The CD has a fuller sound even though many argue with me on this board.

Fellow Norwegians made this parody of the series, which I find rather brilliant:
